menwongo: My brotherly, you said well. Most farmers don't have any other hand work except palm oil milling. After milling they must sell, unless they want to observe one month fasting. Most times they will be begging buyers to buy the oil right in the mill.
Any miller that increase the price or want the price to increase before selling have extra source of income! Receive this hug my brother! A woman produced one keg of oil yesterday and was begging people to buy right there at the mill. When no one bulged, na so she tie her thing for her motorcycle and headed straight to Ikot Ekpene to sell! Any miller that increases the price or wants the price to increase before selling has an extra source of income! |

menwongo: After counting my losses, I decided to go offline with palm oil technically: You don wake me up again.
Well First of all, there is no gain in palm oil production if you are to sell only the oil. It's after selling the palm kernel that you will see small gain.
Local palm fruit most times need 40+ bunches of palm fruit to full a keg in order to produce first grade oil. If care is not taken with the local fruit, what you will achieve at the end will be palm kernel. Also people tend to love it's oil. Currently a bounce of local palm fruit is #300 to #400 here.
Agric palm fruit, some times 20+ bunches will produce a keg of oil. With little or no Palm kernel. Most people dislike the oil. #we mix it with local fruit for it to be marketable# A bunch of agric palm oil is #500 to #600 now.
Imagine scumbing the entire bush just to harvest 20 bunches which would have been 50 to 80 during February - April. You will pay labourers even higher order wise they leave those bunches that is far inside bush to rot. The sad thing is palm fruit has high quality of water now to oil, because of this every day rain.
I don't think all the millers are greedy, yesterday am told a lady was looking for who to buy her oil at #10,000 just to settle police. Nobody will have oil and refused to sell it out in give away price to settle his problem......
Politicians like ranting just to feel better. Production is not assumption, let him involve in oil milling to clear his doubt. He might even start up a plantation and mill as a minister. He will start harvesting after 5 years. Lmaoooo! Mbok ku nam nsak Nkan ami. We don wake you up again. We don't give up, NO, we don't! Abi you don forget? Count the losses and move on. The last 2 months has been pretty challenging for myself and Donparosky but we're still standing! Production is not assumption but the way people who have never visited the mill or gone in search of palm fruit will analyze /cost the production of palm fruit, you'll be wondering if there's anything you're doing wrong. Minister for mill and palm plantation! Lol. |

donparosky: shikena.... ....if we must keep maintaining quality, then it's actually impossible to produce at the same price with Malaysians except the cost of so many utilities like fuels, power, rubber, transport, is reviewed by our govt. there's just no magic that can be done Which is not happening anytime soon! |

donparosky: lols, I love intellectual arguments like this sir, although say I no go school. well let me start by asking you sir:how many bunches of palm fruits yields 25litres of palm oil. how much fuel do you need to power your productions per batch. let's not even include the cost of labourers who cut the bunches, select fruits, boil or the firewood, water and other logistics first. you will realise how much it cost to produce first grade palm oil. Now you choose who to believe, us or the government, but lemme ask you? how much is a litre of fuel and diesel over your place. Aside from those factors, it cost at least #800 to transport oil to Lagos or north per keg... ....all this while I've not included the cost of the empty kegs too. once you are done with all this logistics, you will realise the truth sir. No matter which angle you come from, you will realise that the govt isn't helping matters, that's the bitter truth. well let me call on a few dealers to and the house to make contributions to this issues: who is to blame, the producers, dealers, retailers, abi governments. cc: peeo menwongo sanod tublez clasictutor Etiumoh basalt and every one pls make your suggestions God bless our hussles Thanks for the mention sire. I stopped criticizing palm oil sellers on the price issue when I sat down to cost how much is needed to produce a keg of oil. The energy exerted is even a topic on it's own. The only solution would have been having the same price in all the states but so many obvious factors made this impossible. It is well jare. The only solution is to maintain the standard by producing good oil. Akuenhe! |
