Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) factional State Working Committee (SWC) loyal to Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has been sacked by the judgement of the federal high court, Ado Ekiti Division. This has continued to receive applause.

While the PDP South West said the verdict signaled an end to impunity, abuse of party constitution and one-man dictatorship in Ekiti State chapter, a former Nigerian High Commissioner to Canada, Ambassador Dare Bejide, described it as the beginning of the revival of the party in the state.

Bejide, a PDP governorship aspirant, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday that with the judgment, “those who left the party for various reasons can now come back. The PDP is still the party to beat in Ekiti State

President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate to reconsider and confirm Ibrahim Magu as the substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Senate President Bukola Saraki read Mr. Buhari’s letter notifying the lawmakers of the re-nomination on Tuesday, just after the Senate returned from an executive session.

The Olukere of Ikere-Ekiti, Ganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin, has appeal to Ekiti State Government to grant him recognition as an Oba in the state, insisting that he is the owner of Ikere-Ekiti, describing Ogoga of Ikere as his errand boy.

He said: “I am the owner of Ikere-Ekiti, I used to send Ogoga some errands which he accepted to do until government gave him recognition.”

Ganiyu Obasoyin, made the request yesterday in his welcome address to Ekiti Council of Obas while on a fact finding mission to the palace of Olukere led by the chairman of the state council of Oba, Oba Samuel Oladapo Oyebade. Three persons, a female and two males, today lost their lives in a multiple accident involving an articulated vehicle and nine others along the Upper Iweka road, Onitsha in Anambra.

Mr Sunday Ajayi, the state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), while confirming the incident, said nine casualties were taken to three hospitals.

Ajayi said the accident occurred at the Lagos Park axis of the Upper Iweka road at about 10.15 a.m.

A 42 year old man, has threatened to divorce his wife after allegedly catching her giving his 5-year-old son Mouth Action.

The man, who said he has been married to his wife for seven years, claimed his wife is not even remorseful over the incestuous act.

In a letter sent to news men, the man, who gave his identity only as Jeff, said he was interested in seeking the opinion of the general public before he goes ahead with his decision.

Jeff, in the letter said when he confronted his wife, she claimed she was only trying to put the baby to sleep and there was nothing wrong in playing with her child.
