TravelRe: Construction Of First Flyover For Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Starts by pfadom: 9:19am On Apr 12, 2025
Still complaining after the bird had flown.
While the Lagos/Calabar coastal road would be an interesting sight, I have many problems with it:

1) The government should first tidy up federal roads and make them drivable and safe. I've been to many parts of this country, and our federal roads are a deathtrap. Roads should be easily drivable, without senseless potholes.

2) Will this road be completed on time? I have a strong feeling that this road will eventually be a white elephant project that won't be completed in the next 10 years. Investing billions on a long stretch of road while the existing ones are an eyesore is ridiculous to me.

3) Why wasn't this project bid for? Why was it awarded without other construction companies submitting their bid? Sounds very tyrannical and impulsive. For a project this large, and this expensive, there should have been a fair bidding process.

4) Why are we spending so so so much on a road, when we have other more pressing issues? An estimated cost of more than 3tr is to be spent on this road. Why? Why not spend same money on kickstarting 24/7 electricity? Why not invest it in interstate security, so that kidnapping would be a thing of the past? Why not spread the money across other more important projects?

So many questions, so little answers. I have many reservations.

PS: Please respect your family name and don't drag tribalism or stupidity into this. If you wanna argue, engage the use of your brain. Selah
PoliticsRe: Utomi To Tinubu: Why No Emergency Rule In Lagos During Obasa Saga? by pfadom: 12:19pm On Mar 22, 2025
This Pat Utomi is losing touch with reality. What is the relationship between the situation of things in Rivers and Edo? Is there any judicial verdict that any of the LGHA members still contest? We may not like it, the party is able to douse the tension.
PoliticsRe: Makinde Challenges Tinubu’s State of Emergency, Throws Weight behind Fubara by pfadom: 12:16pm On Mar 22, 2025
What do you expect from Makinde? Any controversial governor would kick against the State of Emergency rule the say they kick against the local government autonomy.

Even when the Supreme Court came with a verdict, Makinde still kicked against the financial autonomy for local government.

If the ungrateful Obasa is not willing or ready to bow out honourably, the LAHoA should remove him for the second time. And his final fall shall be more ridiculous than the former.

This is no longer representatve democracy!

Tinubu will pay dearly for this!

I suspect they have all received "special packages" to sheathe their swords. The next agenda is to withdraw the case from the court. At least, lawyers have taken their bites of the pie.

PoliticsRe: APC Paid Women For Demonstrations Against Jonathan’s Government - Amaechi by pfadom: 5:47pm On Feb 01, 2025
What a stupid, ungrateful person Mr Amaechi is! He has put his mouth on the national feeding bottle from 1999 to 2007 as the speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, 207 to 2015 - Governor of Rivers State, 2015 to 2022 - Minister of Transportation. He suddenly becomes an antagonistic nuisance the moment he lost the presidential primary in 2022.

Was he not against Jonathan when Jonathan publicly pitched his tent with Gov Jonah Jang as the Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum.

PoliticsRe: 2027: I Swear To God, I Will Campaign For Seyi Tinubu For Lagos Governor - VDM by pfadom: 4:23am On Jan 18, 2025
He showed remorse! The undeserved first term brought out the ugly side of Ambode - complacent, arrogant, bitter, vindictive and venomous. He might rock the boat if given another chance.

He had the best chance to develop Lagos by working with his predecessor, Raji Fashola, who was then the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, but his bitterness towards him denied Lagosians the deriavable benefits from such partnership.

His position on the proposed Landuse Charge Bill was another thorn in the flesh of Lagosians.

SmartPolician:
Ambode should be allowed to complete his tenure. He has shown enough remorse for challenging the establishment and ass-licked them enough.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Not Right Man To Rule Nigeria, Osinbajo Visionary – Ojudu by pfadom: 3:01pm On Jan 01, 2025
Yemi Osinbajo is the worst and the most incompetent vice president ever had despite his education.

Or how can we describe someone at the highest level/rank of academic career and legal profession, but his influence on rule of law, fight against corruption, education and particularly stupid implementation of IPPIS in the tertiary education sector. It took Femi Gbajabiamila, the then Speaker Federal House of Representatives, to end the 10-month ASUU strike in a government where Osinbajo was a stakeholder.

Instead he was reduced to a mere trader money man. He could not stop the Naira Painting Project that crippled the finances of many homes, businesses and leaving many dead when they could not access their monies.
Or you are saying, it was easier said than done, then why did he not resign from the government.
PoliticsRe: I Returned The Money Donated To Me - Uju Ohanenye (Video) by pfadom: 4:16am On Dec 27, 2024
She truly deserved to be sacked and resacked. Was she running a one-person show in the ministry? The project, though conceived by the minister, should have been ratified by the executive committee of the ministry and reported to the Federal Executive Council.

So why return the money donated to the ministry for specific projects? The money was not donated to the minister at all. Now I know she is grossly incompetent. What would happen if the project has started before her sack? She should have known that government is a continuum.

PoliticsRe: Beyond The Island: Beautiful Pictures Of Lagos Mainland by pfadom: 8:10am On Dec 18, 2024
You can still stay in your Village. Everyone competes with him/herself in Lagos with the ultimate desire to make it.

Lagos is still evolving. From Bolelaja to Molue to mini Yellow busses to BRT and now red and blue railway lines. There is a better hope ahead for Lagos. States should learn to partner to develop their states.

9jvirgin:
Lagos is a very poor and toxic city with people suffering from mental illnesses due to the hardship caused by traffic and lack of social services. These pictures are not realities.
