Not excusing the scammer, but I think most Nigerian devs, take the money out of desperation and later realize the issue is more than what they thought it was, so they initially delay because the motivation to do the jobs, usually gets gone.

It's why I tend to pay Nigerian developer a good sum. I've paid 150k for someone to convert Figma to HTML, because i value my time.

Also another issue is most NL dev will say they can do the job just for the money, so there's another angle too.

I started since December 2023 and I have been able to save 20m naira. the thing is tech jobs in Nigeria are very unpredictable and I can wake up one morning and see everyone has been laid off hence I am not totally locked in on staying in Nigeria and Jobs are quite difficult to land (High Paying). I made the decision to use my savings to Japa and have narrowed down these two countries. other countries are welcome. which would be suitable for me. I work as a Data Analyst/Engineer for a tech company. I have 3+year's experience. I am Single and just turned 28 years.
I haven't quite my job so I am currently still working.

Do you have any business you're running in Nigeria? Before you think of japa invest something in Nigeria incase if japa no pay you'll be more willing to come back home instead of enduring in another man's land

I have some business you can setup with less than 5m and you can put someone incharge to monitor for you

Ordinarily, I would have allowed it to pass but thought it necessary to provide some clarifications. I have said it many times, if you have money, Nigeria could be sweet and enjoyable. There are certain things your money can do for you to compensate for the inadequacies of the Nigerian state. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have problems with living abroad. I lived in UK for three years and wasn’t just happy with the lifestyle and I preferred the lifestyle I had in Nigeria prior to coming to UK.

Nevertheless, it provided me a rare privilege to see the opportunities that abound in the West for hardworking people, and I was determined that my kids should have access to the opportunities that abound in the West. I remembered the challenges I faced, after getting to the final recruitment stage of Statoil hydro, Barclays bank, HSBC, Scottish and Southern Energy, JP Morgan and HM Revenue and Custom. One question always came up: "Do you have the permanent right to work in UK"? Once my answer was “no”, I won’t get any further correspondence from the HR.

I visit travel thread regularly to update myself with the required information as I am currently sponsoring two people in schools in Canada. I also guide my relatives and mentees on visa applications, admission processes, right courses to study and living life abroad as some of them have limited information on those things and they usually came to me for guidance.
