Career29 Habits Of Extremely Considerate People by poet007(op): 3:30pm On Jan 20, 2015
Sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves that we forget to keep other people in mind.

Here are some habits of extremely considerate people to pick up and use daily:

1. They put themselves in other people's shoes.

2. They recognize their own imperfections — and embrace them!

3. They open the door for people instead of barging through it first.

Career7 Smart Money Habits To Start Right Now by poet007(op): 11:03am On Jan 19, 2015
If you want to be good with money (like Oprah-level good), here are seven financial habits to start forming today.

This is one resolution you can make last.

1. Track your spending.

Ever wonder where the hell all your money is going? Now you can find out.

It may sound like a lot of work, but writing down everything you spend is the fastest way to open your eyes to reality. Ninety-five percent of my clients are surprised, even shocked by what they spend when they see it all laid out.

Spending can become so automatic that we don't even realize we're doing it. Writing down what you spend in an actual (i.e., paper) journal or with an app will help you become more conscious about where your money is going. And while you might initially be hesitant to face the numbers, just knowing where you stand can take a tremendous weight off your shoulders. Continue Reading»»

Career10 Ways to Become Incredibly Charismatic by poet007(op): 8:14am On Jan 19, 2015
Some people instantly make us feel important. Some people instantly make us feel special. Some people light up a room just by walking in.

We can't always define it, but some people have "it" — they're naturally charismatic.

Unfortunately, natural charisma quickly loses its impact. Familiarity breeds, well, familiarity.

But some people have the ability to maintain real charisma over time. They build and maintain great relationships, positively influence the people around them, and consistently make people feel better about themselves. They're the kind of people everyone wants to be around … and wants to be.

Fortunately we can all be more charismatic, because charisma isn't about our level of success, or our presentation skills, or how we dress, or the image we project — charisma is about what we do.

Here are ways you can be more charismatic:

1. Listen way more than you talk.

Ask questions. Maintain eye contact. Smile. Frown. Nod. Respond — not so much verbally, but nonverbally.

That's all it takes to show the other person they're important.

Then when you do speak, don't offer advice unless you're asked. Listening shows you care a lot more than offering advice, because when you offer advice in most cases you make the conversation about you, not them.

Don't believe me? Who is, "Here's what I would do …" about: you, or the other person?

Only speak when you have something important to say — and always define important as what matters to the other person, not to you. Read more»»

RomanceYou're Not Missing A 'better Half' ... You're Missing Self-esteem by poet007(op): 8:23am On Jan 16, 2015
The more you "need" love, the less attractive you become. Ironic, we know.
Many people have bought into the myth that there is someone out there who will serve as their "better half."

This paradigm presumes that we are incomplete and require a partner to make us whole, and it feeds into the "hole in the soul syndrome," a core sense of insufficiency leading to feelings of emptiness, neediness and self reproach.

Because of these feelings, we look for a partner to fill in the holes.

The irony is that the very sense of neediness that drives us to seek out love is exactly what will impede love from blossoming. Authentic love is attracted by those who desire it and is repelled by those who need it. Continue Reading»»

RomanceThe Way People Love Us Depends On How We Love Ourselves by poet007(op): 7:49am On Jan 16, 2015
Relationships mirror back what you love and don't love about yourself!
Do you accept yourself? Really? Do you accept everything about yourself?

DO you accept the parts that you wish were different? Do you accept the parts that you try to hide, disguise, or pretend are not there? Tell the truth, do you really accept all of you?

If you believe that others are mirrors of yourself, then you will like to consider this pattern of behavior. It is a pattern of belief, followed by behavior,  then creating expectation and then resulting in a self-fulfilling prophesy. It all starts with what you believe about yourself. Do you believe that you are lovable? Do you believe that you are worthy of love and someone wonderful being devoted to you and only you? Do you believe that you are precious and deserve an unconditionally loving partner? Continue Reading»»

CareerYou Have The Power To Rewire Your Brain For More Joy by poet007(op): 5:39am On Jan 15, 2015
“The number of possible combinations of neurons that fire and wire together is 10 to the millionth power in your nervous system. In comparison, the number of atoms in our entire universe is estimated to be around 10 to the 80th power. If we are 10 to the millionth power, that makes us almost infinite. So what are we? Who are we? And what can we do with this?” she said, speaking to an audience of a couple dozen conference attendees. Read more»»

CareerConsistency Is The Key To Breaking Bad Habits And Forming Good by poet007(op): 8:04am On Jan 13, 2015
How habits are formed
Habits don’t appear out of nowhere. They aren’t the products of genetics or random chance. Instead, they’re merely products of our behavior, accumulating after several repeated instances. You wake up one day, perform a specific action, and go about your business like normal. You wake up the next day, perform that action again, and go about your business like normal. Health9 Things Incredibly Attractive People Do by poet007(op): 8:51am On Jan 09, 2015
Attractive people are more likely to become leaders, make more money, get better opportunities, and attract other attractive people as mates.

But beauty is not the only thing that makes people attractive. There are many people out there with slightly better than average looks who are a magnet for adoration. Think hard about the attractive people you know. You'll find that most aren't movie star material and you likely know some who are beautiful on the outside but not so attractive once you get to know them.

Incredibly attractive people make it their business to stay attractive regardless of how life shines upon them. Here's how they do it, along with suggestions how you can be more attractive as well.

1. They smile ... a lot.

Incredibly attractive people love life, all aspects of it. They thrill to challenges as much as they enjoy the rewards of success. They make the most of every minute and live in the moment. They are not afraid to share their joy in their movements and on their face. Feeling unattractive? Try finding the little joys in your day and express each positive notion with a big smile. Soon people will wonder what's causing your happiness and want to join you. Continue Reading»»

Career10 Habits Of Highly Authentic People by poet007(op): 6:08am On Jan 06, 2015
Authenticity does not come from title, social stature, or the size of one's paycheck but rather from how we live.  It is about how we go about pursue our dreams in our own unique way.

Below are some of the disciplines and practices derived from my own experience and learning that may help you in your own journey:

FOSTERING INNER ENERGY

To be authentic one must be "awake," meaning you have the ability to understand who you are, what you want to be, and how you want to fit in the world. From Aristotle to Buddha, Rumi to Steve Jobs, Kahlil Gibran to Paulo Coelho, many revered thinkers and talents have said that the path to an authentic journey is to know thyself, guided by an inner voice. Continue Reading»»

Career15 Things Exceptional People Think Every Day by poet007(op): 5:42am On Jan 06, 2015
Successful people are not necessarily smarter or luckier than most. They simply understand that, as Aristotle said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit."

Here are 15 things that exceptional people think, say, and do every day to achieve their success.

1. Review goals
Goals are not something that you should review every few years, or even every few months. Exceptional people review short- and long-term goals every day. Life is a daily process that can change in a moment, so constantly reviewing your goals will allow you to quickly make the adjustments necessary to achieve them. Continue Reading»»

CareerWhat It Takes To Form A Good Habit by poet007(op): 10:54am On Jan 03, 2015
Often, our New Year's resolutions are us promising ourselves we'll form good habits this year: whether it's something big like "I'm going to eat better" or "I'm going to keep my computer backed up" to "I'm going to actually start flossing every day". So often, though, these habits end up dying off pretty quickly. Here are a few ways to make sure your resolutions become habits and not another joke in the garbage.

Make Sure Your Life Is In Order

While there's a certain charm to the "no better time than now" idea behind forming good habits, the fact of the matter is that your willpower is limited. Continue Reading»»

Career9 Simple Communication Rules For Success by poet007(op): 9:35pm On Jan 02, 2015
Effective communication is extremely important in business. Not only do we want to send clear marketing messages to our customers — and customers to be — but we need to make sure that we build and maintain clear lines of communication with the members of our team.

According to Dr. Loretta Malandro, founder and CEO of The Malandro Consulting Group, and author of the book "Speak Up, Show Up, and Stand Out," becoming a powerful communicator is possible by following 9 commonsense, but essential rules.

Rule 1: Be 100% accountable — rise above circumstances

Identify your bad communication habits (yes, we all have them!), admit that you engage in them, and then replace them with habits that are effective. Continue Reading»»

CareerCareer Advice You Should Never Follow by poet007(op): 1:22pm On Jan 02, 2015
With so much career advice floating around the interwebs, some of it is bound to be poor. Luckily we here at Levo don’t just trust the haphazardly doled-out opinions of self-appointed “leadership experts” and other dubious characters. We go straight to the top—men and women who have worked their way to massive career success — and ask them. What strategies actually worked for them? Which career buzz phrases should be ignored completely? Here are a few pieces of career advice that you should never follow.

1. “Always have a five-year plan.”

Haven’t you heard? Five-year plans are out, pivoting is in. Having tangible goals is awesome and necessary, but trying to plan out the next five years of your life is neither. The best opportunities are often those that you don’t see coming. Being too stuck to your “five-year plan” inhibits you from taking opportunities as they arise, and pivoting in new directions. Career17 Ways To Make A New Year’s Resolution You’ll Actually Keep by poet007(op): 9:58am On Jan 02, 2015
17 strategies for constructing a New Year's goal
Many of us who have used this time of year to turn our bodies around have fallen into the same cycle of failure: We’re frustrated with our size or weight, we vow that this is the year of skinny jeans, and we promise to skip the daily

HealthThe Science Of Dealing With People You Hate by poet007(op): 10:43am On Dec 31, 2014
Instead, try these science-backed ways to deal with seven types of difficult people — all while keeping your cool.

The Constant Complainer:We all complain sometimes. Then there are those people who whine so often, you start to wonder if they’re just looking for attention. It becomes even more frustrating when they don’t seem motivated to fix any of their own problems — and dismiss your advice when you try to help. Indeed, social psychologists have flagged “help-rejecting complainers” as some of the most exasperating types of people to know. The best way to deal, psychologists say, is to keep from getting too emotionally invested in your friend’s psychodrama. How? Acknowledge your buddy’s frustration; then, ask calmly what he or she intends to do about it. That puts the onus on your pal to find a solution. Continue Reading»»»

Career20 Easy Steps To Become A Millionaire by poet007(op): 7:21pm On Dec 29, 2014
There are more millionaires than ever nowadays, and it's not because the financial market is good; in fact, it is pretty common knowledge that the economy has definitely seen better days, and the people able to find success in it know how to act accordingly. To become the next millionaire, you will need to blend business practices with responsible financial decisions in order to both maximize profits and squirrel away some cash for the winter.

Even though this is easier said than done, the things that you have to do to become the next millionaire are theoretically fairly easy.

Health7 Unexpected Ways To Add Years To Your Life by poet007(op): 4:55pm On Dec 27, 2014
Try these surprising habits that could help you live longer.

1) Adopt a furry friend
Your four-legged companion may be helping you live a longer life, according to a review published in the journal Circulation. Researchers believe owning a dog might keep the owner more active and, as a result, lowers the risk of heart disease.
"Dog owners are who walk their dogs are more likely to meet recommendations for daily physical activity (150 minutes weekly)," says Eric A. Goedereis, PhD, assistant professor of psychology at Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Owning a pet also reduces stress, which may decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease, he adds. continue reading»»»

CareerNeed A Burst Of Creativity? Get Up And Get Walking by poet007(op): 2:19pm On Dec 26, 2014
Stanford psychologists have discovered that when people walk, they increase their creativity by 60 percent compared to when they sit. Benefits occurred whether walking on a treadmill in a room facing a blank wall or striding outdoors in fresh air. After four experiments involving 176 college students, the researchers also learned that:

• Taking a hike as a timeout from work allows time to rethink—“re-conceptualize”—a project or problem from another  viewpoint.
