I like this, even though is part of their marketing strategy.

At least, some people will benefit from this initiative.

If more of our elite personnel, corporate bodies can think along this line, Nigeria and Africa will witness a new growth and a different way of thinking.

Kudos to the man
Marketing kee u dia.

what are this guys looking for in Africa
they are quick to spread their charity wings throughout africa when the Nigerian people have not gotten enough
he has the right to spend his money however he made his fortune in Nigeria
instead of concentrating on the whole of Africa ,why not focus on healthcare, education and entrepreneurship in nigeria and see how many lives will be transformed.
how many African billionaires have we seen their 50kobo in nigeria in terms of charity

Any small issues now, smaller african countries not bigger than lagos will be dealing with nigeria.

Wouldn’t be Nairaland (or Nigeria) if there wasn’t some folks desperately seeking NEGATIVES from anything remotely positive...smh sad

Who is seeking negatives?do you even know the level of corruption that goes on in this NGO,Foundation and charities?was it not yesterday Charles soludo was blasted for seeking public donations to build a health care facility in the tune of 2b Naira in honor of his late mom, bout 5yrs ago and nothing of such has been built in his community till date..Dey there Make pant they wear you!

Very pleasant development and shows what industrialization can produce. Unlike other economic sectors successful industrialists almost always reinvest into education because they know that is the foundation of their own sustainable ventures.

That is why the Nigerian government must ensure those with a vision to produce things particularly global visionaries are supported in every logical way to succeed.

When we talk about altetnative funding to university education this is one of the primary sources the developed world over enabling high quality research and development.

Good one.

The man is trying to build an African company, so it make sense for the foundation to be Africa focused. Building a pan African brand is the way to go.

Hopefully, this will not be another audio foundation

Please don't say what you're not sure about. I work with an INGO and I can give you evidences of impacts on the Nigerian Micro Finance and Agric Sectors. Fact check before you speak out. A lot of Local and International NGOs need to do more on marketing and publicity anyways. But not to say there's no impact.
I wasn’t talking bout international NGOs or foundations neither did I say all Nigerians Foundations or NGOs so I don’t know what your response is all bout...it’s an open secret that the money meant for this purposes are always largely misappropriated and only a fraction of the generated funds gets dispensed and disbursed on whatever projects they’re embarking and as such the impact doesn’t get felt as it should...if you work with a credible organization with integrity then good for you and such orgs are laudable but don’t come here and start talking as if people running NGOs or foundations or charities don’t embezzle or divert funds and donations for personal uses or enrichment.

RUBBISH!

So because one person’s unstructured philanthropy in his (mother’s) village failed to bear fruition, all foundations are “audio”?
Meanwhile, the Otedola, Dangote, Ovia, Balogun, and many other foundations build schools, hospitals, give scholarships, help widows, etc.

Frankly, Mr. Rabiu shouldn’t do more than simply endow money for the foundation...
If Nigerians/African are inherently incapable of running a relatively simple foundation, how does that diminish him or his gesture?

The dig wasn’t necessarily at Mr Rabiu and your last paragraph to some captures my sentiment for every structured Foundation or NGO in this country there are 5 shams which are just money making tools in the hands of the “runners and owners”so most times a $100m endowment fund would have probably 50-60m channeled into building infrastructure, providing technical support, training and education of the beneficiaries while about 40m would grow wings and disappear into thin air.
