Always annoying when people who have not achieved any success in life talk ill of someone who has achieved almost everything in his chosen career and who is rich enough to sustain his family till death if he choses not to work again. A player that won Champions league, African cup of nations and many titles in top flight football is being tagged the worst midfielder that ever played for the National team.

When you can show the world what you have done with your life, you have the right to bash Mikel. Until then, please respect the most decorated Nigerian player in recent time.

We lost that World cup game against France in 2014 because onazi got injured and Mikel who was to man the midfield was woeful.

I understand his side of the story but don't believe him totally. By 2016 Mikel was already turning to a pensioner at Chelsea and needed the Olympics to boost his profile in the market in order for him to make a bigger move when compared to his pensioner qualities. During his most strongest time as a player during morinho tenure in 2008 Olympics the young man choose Chelsea instead of playing for Nigeria at the Olympics because he was almost seeing every match as at then. The summary of the whole story is that Mikel was no longer a force to reckon with by 2016 at Chelsea football club and that escuse to me is a lame one
please when saying things like this,say it fact. If I remember correctly there was controversy surrounding is invitation with other players then which made him decide to stay put then.not that he didn't want to play for Nigeria.

The presence of Mikel in that midfield would av been better, because I watch most of naija matches, (Beijing 2008) and our boys were fantastic

Had it been Mikel and enyeama were present, we could have won the final against Argentina

because, we were narrowly defeated by one nil, scored by di Maria. Very painful.

First by the glamour of those players talents.
Second, by the bias that they are better than Mikel.
And so you now make unnecessary comparison to Mikel(who is undeniably very talented in his own uniquness).

You can't lay claim to this your UNVERIFIABLE ARGUMENT and prove to us this(those players being better) is true as regards why he(mikel)was benched at Chelsea then.
You can't even recall what FORM these guys you mentioned had that particular season Mikel was snubbed.

I mean going down memory lane, even during the days of; Ballack, Essien,Ramirez, Mata, Hazard, Lampard, Matic, Meirless, Bosingwa, Mikel was still a very INTEGRAL part of the team. Even when your Fabregas first came to Chelsea under a coach before Conte, Mikel was still getting games good enough.

So no dey cap dust for here.

The point I was trying to make is that he was a very important player for the Chelsea football club at that time and no coach will freeze him out whether he choose to play for the national team or not unlike his position in 2016 when he was just considered a club member by same coach making me to assert his claim as lame.
