The whole poverty excuse is total nonsense. Give those barrow hawkers the stadium land to sell and they would refuse. They are like ticks riding on the back of market traffic. Stealing traffic from legitimate shop owners by bribing authorities. They destroy business for those that pay hundreds of thousands for stalls. They make commerce primitive. It is so bad they even now sell in the gutters.

I have a relative who sells vegetables inside one of the markets. She pays 100,000 a year plus tax. Under Obiano illegal hawkers mostly from Ebonyi and Enugu state park in front of the markets and pay 100 naira per day selling vegetables illegally. Her business is doing badly as a result.

One cannot cater for all of Nigerias unemployed in the name of street trading. People should go back to farming instead of constituting a nuisance. Those that pay for shops should reap the benefit of the market. Street trading should be banned and replaced with periodic regulated farmers market in enclosed spaces.

Yes absolutely. Set up airport management company like actda. Also we must never hand this to federal government or concession it. It must remain as state owned. The vultures will soon start hovering around the state. This airport if done right will be second busiest in nigeria. They have done eveything right that all the big airlines in the world will want to land there. All they want to see is traffic. If the south east keys into this well. It will be mind blowing. The East and Anambra is about to have an economic boom never witnessed before. We are the biggest travellers in Nigeria. The sand around runway and taxiway must be planted with grass if not paved. I totally agree with your submission. Especially on the use of a reputable real-estate company to develop an aerotropolis of the future.
Strong oversight of that project is required becasue even Abuja master plan is often violated, talkmore leaving the development of the airport city without a strong oversight agency to ensure strict adherance to the development plan.
