so when i was doing my drivers license in ikeja i entered this uber to ikeja which the ikeja old secretariat is where i did the drivers license. So i got to talking to the uber driver and the conversation got to food and he said he was still angry about the food that he bought for 2500 the day before that he had no coice but to buy it because he was so hungry and was nearly passing out and had no choice but to buy it. but meanwhile if you go to THE PLACE or most eateries around lagos this is how much you will spend for a plate of food. However i understand where the guy was coming from because in doing the drivers license, we were asked to queue for hours and i got so hungry and there was a woman selling food just right there at the old secretariat and i asked how much was rice she said 200 naira and meat was 50 naira each and so the bill was like 300 naira. and yet its the same food although the packaging is different. so i guess my question is that is it normal or wasteful to spend 2500 for a plate of food ? what say you ?

The 300 own , u enter AC ? Rent different too , workers salaries

For me I can spend any amount on food ,mine is getting the worth of the price , yesterday I cook egusi soup at home with 1k ( meat included ) , though I have Eba at home , I bought every other things , yet it tastes great , better than what u can get outside at that 1k , upon I eat it 3 times

So no amount is too high for food the problem is getting the value
I ate breakfast buffet in eko hotel last year for a week at 7500 per plate , I enjoyed it that ( them pay for me ) but it worth it

A portion from the 1k soup ( pic )

In my opinion, 2500 is too much to buy roadside food. Simply take snacks. Then add something to the 2500 and cook yourself a healthy meal.

As for the 300 naira food, I'm sure it will be tastless and may not be hygienic. So,I'll rather snack on a bottle of coke and gala if the hunger gets out of hand.

For those claiming buffet at Eko Hotels, most of us have been there for a nice treat at one time or the other but as a virtous woman, it's not a place you want to frequent with your man if you must be prudent and if you're a good cook. There's really nothing special in what they cook there except for the intercontinental dishes which don't even appeal to my taste. So let no one feel left out or begin to query their God. grin
