Appointment letter? Is it to do biometric or what..if you are confused ask you agent to show you your application online or give you ur login password to check your application..since you paid for the service of an agent then it is ur right to ask for anything you are not clear about just be decent about the way you communicates with her / him ..hunnn if anything goes wrong it's you that will be rejected...worst case scenario ....I have seen agent mess up ppl to the level of a 5 year ban ...even when you have an agent (if need be ) still be on top of ur application it's ur right

No need for unnecessary long talk, meet the agent and demand for your username, password and security questions/answers. Go online and view your application status yourself.

Hi all!
Is anyone else talking forever to get their request for passport?
My TRV application was approved a few weeks ago but I’ve yet to receive a request for passport.
Is there any thing I can do to speed things up?

Hi
It wasn’t a paper application. I applied via Ircc’s official website.
I’ll email each of them.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Thank you.

On Tuesday I got this email: Your application, tracking ID No. xxxxxxxx is in transit and has been dispatched to the IRCC Office through the Canada Visa Application Centre, Lagos Office, on 3/23/2021 2:26:10 PM for processing

After no update on my account, I sent a mail on Thursday, I got this response this morning: Your application, tracking ID No. xxxxxx has been received at the Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja OC on 3/26/2021 10:46:57 AM and is in transit to the IRCC Office in Abuja OC for processing.

So I was confused on what both mails meant. Does it mean, they sent the passport from Lagos VFS to Abuja VFS after the initial mail said it has already been sent to IRCC Lagos? I chatted with an agent and the agent said the passport was sent to the Abuja embassy. I don't know which information to go with now. Is Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja OC the same as IRCC Office in Abuja? There is no update on the GCKey account yet. Is this the type of mail you got?

Hello Newmum0615,

Hi,

I'd say that the documents you submit for every application will differ for every applicant. Even a particular applicant might need different documents at the time of applying depending on the circumstances. There is also no way to ensure that your application is approved. I will advise you strongly demonstrate her ties to Nigeria as much as you can and also highlight the funds available for the trip. Do what you can to submit a good application and If you believe in prayer, pray and hope for the best.

For me, I submitted the following:

1. Introduction letter from my mum's employer
2. Employment docs
3. Educational docs
4: Tax certificate
5. 3 months payslips
6. Salary account statement
7. Purpose of travel letter (Demonstration of ties & Budget breakdown for the trip was included in this letter)
8. Introduction letter from me and my spouse (we sponsored the trip) I highlighted our funds and her ties back home in these letters too.
9. My mum's saving account statement
10. Bank statement from me and my spouse showing funds
11. Photograph
12. Nigerian Passport
13. Application form IMM5257E
13. Family information form IMM5465
14. Proof of relationship with me
15. PR Cards (Spouse & I)
16. Client Information letter highlighting all the submitted docs
17. Marriage Certificate/Change of name affidavit (Her education & Work docs were in her maiden name)
18. Birth certificates for all my siblings (To demonstrate ties)
19. Flight reservation
20. Employment letters from me and my spouse including payslips

This is all I can remember for now, but I think it pretty much covered it for us.

Cheers.

Hello House, please I need advice on what to do. I am a Canadian PR who recently got married to my spouse who is based in Nigeria, I would like to know if

1. I will be required to do a new passport as well as a new PR card with my marriage name before filing for my husband

2. I received CRB (covid benefits) for a while before getting a job in Canada, will this affect my eligibility to sponsor him?

3. Do I need to have a permanent job to be eligible to sponsor him or any job would do?

4. Please advise on the applicable documents required for both parties to submit

Thanks much.

You can’t.

If you get to Canada on a visitor’s visa, you must apply Outland for a study visa/permit.

You are better off applying for a study visa from Nigeria.

Good luck!

There is a threshold for income to be able to sponsor. If you now have a job and the salary is able that threshold you can apply despite having collected Covid benefits.

There is no threshold for income if you are sponsoring spouse.

Income requirements comes if the spouse you are sponsoring has a dependent or dependents, then minimum income requirements comes into play.

Please, has anyone here quarantined in group of two or three since the advent of the 3 days hotel quarantine? The Canadian website says 'Only household should quarantine together' I believe household does not entirely mean family. I and two other nairalanders have booked hotel for our three days hotel stay together in order to save cost. But, to be on the safer side, I'd like to ask for your opinion. Hope we won't run into any problem?

Honestly, you should be asking the public health department this question.

No one here can give you the right info.

The law is people from same household should quarantine together simply because they are a unit.

If they ask you, how you folks are related, what would be your response?

Best bet is to call and ask .
