Bunkering products(especially products from vandalised pipe lines)usually get moved to Cameroon through Oron and Calabar. I remember how many people got reach during my time in that area.

Femi Falana once advised them to build fuel stations in these countries and dispense to them like Venezuela did in America. No way!
They didn't listen. Same old tales from one administration to another. Reason is simple: na "them" get the tankers.

I saw a documetary about this some weeks ago and I was astonished.

Could you believe that our petrol is sold cheaper in Cameron As a matter of fact, their taxi people don't buy from Cameroonian filling stations but smuggled and cheaper Nigerian petrol.

This Nigeria may never get better if things continue this way.

Funny enough na we the citizens that are responsible for all these troubles but end up blaming leaders or government.

Yes leaders and government have their part to play but we can't hold them responsible unless we become responsible citizens.

But because people prefer we waste money, rather than save it because cheap fuel is 'our right'...we keep on spending millions subsidisng fuel for other countries to eat....

Oil subsidy must go. Allow the market to control the price of fuel. Yes, fuel prices will go up, but this joke of us subsidisng fuel for other countries will stop.

In case you must know, as a result of the smuggling, we are throwing away billions of naira paying for subsidies for fuel in countries that are not a part of us.

You better wake up, and start supporting subsidiy removal, so that other countries don't take our sweat for nothing.

The subsidy of petroleum priducts since the late 80's means that prices are too low to proeprly fund refinereis, or to allow for the constructuon of new refinereis since most of the money that would be spent on refienreis is spent on subsidisng fuel...plus low prices of fuel prevent investors, unless they are dangote...from building new refinereis.

So you would support complete removal of subsidy, with scrapping of PPRA so that marketers set the price of fuel..ending subsidy completyely and allowing the market control the price?

If that is what you want, good. We may end up with high prices...but more investment, more refinereis, increased PMS produciton and low prices, and even exporting fuel
