Gunmen reportedly attacked Njaba local government secretariat in Imo on Monday.

Doors, windows and vehicles on the premises were reported damaged in the attack.

Njaba council area’s headquarters is in the town of Nnenasa.

The attack has been linked to previous attacks same day on Imo police HQ and the Owerri prison early Monday.

Military checkpoints along Onitsha Road, and another around Ugwu Orji in Owerri North local government area, were also set ablaze.

One report on the incident said military personnel abandoned their post along the road to take cover on sighting the attackers.

In earlier attacks on Monday, at least 1,800 inmates were released after gunmen broke into the Owerri correctional centre.

Gunmen had earlier set Imo police HQ ablaze.

The guns they used to intimidate, oppress and harass innocent civilians are now in the hands of their oppressed. Why are they now running? Come out and fight your oppressed, oh ye zombie cowards!

You should rather ask the coward unknown gunmen to come out from their hiding and face the security forces without getting innocent people involved

This is a chess move.

They're clearing out the security forces.

This will pave way for bigger things to come.

I can never support violence
But I've a feeling there is something neck deep that these Easterners have endured that has made them so violent and led them to the extreme.
Just like the #EndSars protest was a build up of all the pent up anger Nigerians had against the police.
However in all fairness to the Easterners this new found violence is different from that of the bandits, Boko Haram or herdsmen.
Whereas the above have no proof of offensive against them, the Easterners have been pushed by their hatred from almost all sides for the country, marginalisation, extra judicial killings by police and crocodiles and soldiers and even xenophobia against them abroad.

Please let no man or woman in Nigeria or diaspora support these killings in the East against them Easterners or the armed forces.

If this guyz hold Hope Uzodinma eh, nothing go fit save am.

MEANWHILE, I have always known that "where there is no Justice, peace will definitely be absent.
What has suddenly turned Eastern Nigeria which was once the most peaceful place to be in Africa to a war thorn zone fighting against the fg is as a result of injustice.
Snakes don't bite, but when u push them to a corner, they can kill you.

Operation Python dance was one; it happened and other Nigerians made fun of the easterners.

Eastern Nigeria has been sidelined by this administration and other Nigerians thinks it serves them right.

Now the people you denied jobs, have found job by purchasing guns and u are shouting terrorist terrorist upanda.

Shebi the CCT chairman locked mr Onyuike since last week and no one is talking. Police cell will make him tougher and he will get a gun and join a group and become a terrorist because a so called chairman will not leave him to repair phones in peace.

What is coming to Nigeria can only be avoided if Justice is re-awakened without that, the country is doomed

A checkpoint is supposed to be vigilant used for security, but in Nigeria they have turned it into extortion center.

so many evils occuring lately in APC states.
Ebonyi people would have known peace if Umahi didn't defect and Imo state would have been a haven of peace if there was no supreme Court governor.
we all know who the unknown gunmen are

By the time these thugs are finished with the cops, it is people living in the area that would be next on the opression list.

So stop cheerring for them

That's how many people in the NE cherred for Boko...until Boko started eating their food, and kidnapping their daughters and sons.
