I think this thing is not strictly about tribe. In my place in Southern Kaduna, there is no specific amount or price. It all depends on the bride's parents and the groom. My mum was only prayed for and nothing was ever paid. My cousin married a man from Delta who lives in Maitama in Abuja. The groom was overcharged; he spent nothing less than N150K. He considered that cheap. My older brother spent about N250K to marry a girl from a different local government. They got married last two weeks. My other cousin sis demanded only N25k. And the brideprice is usually 20%-25% of the entire amount. But I also know a wedding where the groom spent nothing less than N500K in my village.
