Could someone here help with ideas on to find out bride price without being too direct, please?

I have a couple of ladies from Imo currently as friends. They're decent and I wouldn't mind getting married to either one. But I am scared about starting something more serious because of...I guess you know what. I don't have a lot of money at the moment.

I don't like doing more than myself, so I wish to have an idea of how much it could cost to get married to either of these ladies before going too far. Is that possible?

I'd rather not be too direct about this to avoid misunderstandings and coming across as disrespectful. Is there any way to find out this more cleverly before I invest too much time in a relationship?

Like a friend of yours wants to get married soon to so n so tribe and this their demand..... What's the demand here
Or beta still get people from that community ask them.

And if you r privileged to witness a wedding there then asked her how much it costs to hold one

Don't mind all the noise about high bride price in Igbo land. It all depends on the family. How enlighten are they? Two of my sisters got married last year March. I forced the villagers to monetize the list. They started bargaining. I acted as the go-between. I cancelled a lot of the items that they said belong to my family. At the end they paid little or nothing. I did that because I don't want any young man to come and brag about how he bought my sister. One has put to bed. I bought things worth more than what he spent to see the baby. It depends on how enlightened the family is.

I handled the male side. Average of #80k. I warned the women to be careful and they kept to my warning.

I asked the youths how many of them can afford the list and they said that I'm a white man. They said that if I cut it too much that I will use my money to augment.

It's the immediate family that can solve your problem. I find it insulting that an in-law will be unhappy because of bride price. No decent and enlightened family will allow that. I'm a pure Lagos boy.

This is almost unbelievable! You're indeed enlightened, sire.

A man shouldn't see the bride price as a potential snag to getting married to someone in the ideal world, but it doesn't seem like we live in one around here.
