Honestly speaking with regards to tech, Nigeria should not even be in your options with regards to job opportunities. Those three skills listed can be sold remotely for some sweet dollars . Cybersecurity is very okay if you can acquire the relevant certifications. CISSP, CEH et al. Theres a huge cybersecurity professional shortage worldwide presently. Depending on how great you are, you can even get employers abroad to sponsor you from Nigeria to come work for them. Web development is a branch of software development. Web development is very wide. Frontend, backend, platform development. It is endless. I would say if your pocket isnt heavy on writing exams and getting certifications, go for web development. If you have a lot of money and you think paying for certification exams and sitting down to study and pass them isnt going to be a huge problem, then you can go for cybersecurity. They are both good. 5 Likes |

tensazangetsu20: Tenza, you've been doing a great job giving out advice and guidelines to newbies in this section, nevertheless, i'd like to differ. No matter the number of certification you acquire, Cyber security is not easy to get in, not even In the US(be you a PR holder or on F1), not to talk of sponsoring someone without experience from abroad . A lot of experience is needed. I will implore Tarvel and most programmers/ anyone pursuing a career in ICT to read Mackynaija's thread https://www.nairaland.com/3926467/naija-yankee-thoughts-experiences/85, starting from page 80(i think that page gave birth to ICT discussion, that is if you cannot read from page 1 (but your loss because the whole thread is loaded ). Though, it mostly captured American work space. The op , zendmann1 and others did alot of dissection to know the reality on ground 2 Likes |

Rictech:Yeah true. It also doesn't really have a straight learning path unlike things like web development where you could draw out a road map for yourself. It's very very wide. |

tensazangetsu20:You're very correct... One should learn things that are relevant and easy to get in(I personally did a lot of mistake last year learning languages with little openings) . And according to mackynaija , "if your love for CS has not waned, you can reroute ", I will reroute though but let me chase the mulla first |
