It is actually.Charles is not that popular and many nations will leave the Commonwealth once she passes.She has been able to hold the monarchy together and a lot will change after her demise.Why do you think she has not abdicated for Charles to be the king.That Diana scandal did a lot of damage to the monarchy which was able to come out because of the Queen.Charles won't be as efficient or loved as his mother even the Queen knows this and still sits on the throne without abdicating to Charles.When a monarch dies a lot changes because someone else may come with new policies and if such late monarch was loved and celebrated it will be a big blow so yes changes happen.And you will see how different and loss in influence the monarchy will be with Charles as king.

A gun salute rang out around the world today in honour of Prince Philip who died yesterday aged 99, with Royal Navy warships firing 41 shots over 40 minutes from midday in unison with batteries across the UK and Gibraltar.

Members of the Honourable Artillery Company fire during a 41-round gun salute for Prince Philip from the wharf at the Tower of London held at Midday today.

The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery also fired to mark the passing of Philip, at their historic Parade Ground, Woolwich Barracks.

The same guns were also fired for Philip's wedding to the Queen in 1947 and at her Coronation six years later in 1953.
