*IS IT A SIN?*

Christian sister got pregnant and the Church decided to discipline her since she was not married.

When the elders of the Church met and interviewed her, she told them that she has stayed and remained in the Church for several years and no one is marrying her and she is approaching the age of menopause where she can't get pregnant even if married.

So after reading some Christian medical journals on this issues, she decided and did artificial insemination since she too wants a child. She tendered both the medical journals and the medical documents that showed that she has done the artificial insemination from a reputable hospital.

The Sister is pregnant without committing fornication nor adultery with any man.

*NOW, COULD THIS BE A SIN?*

Kindly give your reasons for your answer and if possible back it with Scripture, so that we can learn. You may wish to send to other Christian group and see their position on the matter.

It's not a sin. A lady clocking 40 without a man can do this if she does not want to adopt. While I advocate for adoption, I know a lot women derive joy from carrying their own child for 9 months.

I agree that it's not a sin.
I could see why she'd want to do the process...since you put it that way.
Also, people will talk regardless of knowing the truth about a situation.
She'd have to contend with all sorts of folks gossiping; however being at peace with her choice would be most important.
Wondering how she'd deal with the "appearance of having committed sin" as in fornication because she's not married in the eyes of the church congregation?

@bolded; in Africa, that would be hard seeing how everyone expects explanations from others. But like you said, being at peace with her decision and seeing the face of her kid every morning would strengthen her. Besides, AI is not cheap; a lady who can afford that is likely to be able to afford leaving the country. Life is never straightforward. We all have our stories. We make our choices and live with the consequences. As for me, provided you aren't hurting others, I'm never judging you for your life decisions cause I don't know what I'd do in your position.

I just don't know how you folks go about submitting your lives to the scrutiny of other humans where God is concerned.

How does a woman who is not a retard and not committed any criminal act, subject herself to the above nonsense, concluding she does so for God's sake?
