You're a big fool - if you pay monthly or annually - what difference does it make - you will have paid AMERI the 500M dollars they invested; That is not BOT. You basically took a loan to build expensive useless thermal plants.
Just30:
Ameri is one of the smartest power agreements that was signed in 2015 .

Ghana paid absolutely nothing for the plant.

Ghanaians paying the same tariffs at a competitive market rate for the power Ameri produced for 5 years has given us a free plant.

Ameri will be producing power for Ghana for the next 15 to 20 years with all the money going to VRA.

That is a smart energy agreement.

Because kenyan politicians are not smart, Ormat geothermal will keep being used by the Israelis to smoke your country dry.

Make absolutely sense. I guess living in the shadows of Nigeria has reduced them to that. They have to shout to be heard.
popizaino:
Lol.....a certain kenyan on this thread once described Ghanaians in a single line saying, "Ghanaians are irrelivant and they like to be heard", grin, thus, thèse makes them say all manner of absurd things just to get noticed........when you understand this fact about them, trust me you wont waste much of your time with any of them .

You call have enough electricity useless?

No wonder more than 50% of kenyans sleep in darkness like they are living in the dark ages .

Ameri operated the plant for 5 years and recouped their investments through selling power.

The only expensive investment in this world is having to go for a loan from China and awarding them a contract to take away all the money and yet repay the money with interest like stupid Kenya does all the time.

That is classic BOT dumb fool.
Unfortunately kenyans ain't smart enough.

4 things you've learnt so far from me.

1.BOT can be done in 5 years.
2.Ghana use 75% to 80% of it 5400MW generation capacity
3. Ghana only pay for the power it uses.
4. 90% of Ghanaians are connected to the grid.

None of what you say is true. Here is the TRUTH - Ghana has been bankrupt more than any other Africa country for these reasons - ZERO BRAINS.

Ghana’s experience is a cautionary tale for countries that find themselves in a situation of having too much electricity at any given point. Without careful forward planning, proper data-driven analysis, and transparent, competitive, corruption-free contracting processes, any country could find itself in the same situation as Ghana.

Ghana has never gone Bankrupt but will use every means to play international institutions for their free money.

All of what I've said have been proven here with videos from power industry players.

I can see you are allergic to facts.

Kid you are bleeding and desperate.

How do you live in a country that can't provide simple electricity to even 50% of it population?

Is it because your coubtry is broke?
How come even Nairobi can't give water to 50% of it population?

You Kenyans and your leaders don't have brains
That is really messed up

Let listen to your president for a change

Nana Akufo-Addo: The government in power today has received more resources – from loans, increasing tax revenues, receipts from exports – than any other government in the 60-year period of our national existence. Indeed more than probably three or four of them put together. Yet here we are, wallowing in corruption.

No serious effort has been made to tackle the structural problems confronting our nation, whether in governance or the management of our economy. No one seems to have a clear idea of what’s happened to all of this money.

The economy, four or five years ago, was considered the rising star of Africa. Ghana – everybody’s favourite African country – was on the verge of take off but is now bankrupt and back in the hands of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), begging for a billion dollars to sustain it over the next two or three years.

Desperation is when you go around the web looking for campaign propaganda from politicians 6 years ago.

Its is called political campaign postering.

The same person who said that
Also said Ghana is so rich with so much financial resources and is mustering all of them to make sure Ghana runs on a "democratic socialism" as Bernie Sanders is preaching.

Yes we seen their blind patriotism here smiley almost impervious to all reasons and logic; The country of dwarfs have huge Napoleon complex going on smiley

Sigmud certainly had Ghana in his mind when he wrote this;

"Napoleon Complex" is a theorized inferiority complex normally attributed to people of short stature. It is characterized by overly-aggressive or domineering social behavior, such as lying about earnings, and carries the implication that such behavior is compensatory for the subject's physical or social shortcomings.

Ghana was never broke in all of those bailouts.

IMF offered great financial terms and it fostered Ghana's growth.
In return, IMF went around the world preaching it gospel to unsuspecting countries like yours who don't know much about the financial market because your people weren't educated enough.

IMF got constantly ripped off by Ghana

Your country has so much to learn so it can reduce it 40 million desperate poor people out of which 20 million are extremely poor.

Nope. IMF bailout come attached with very bad conditionalities . This is why Ghana has completely left it's education sector to the mercies of the church.

If you want free money - go the Eurobond and take as much as you can - but obviously with bad credit rating - you'll pay Ghana like interest - sending you back to the arms of IMF

Ghana’s relationship with the IMF is a cycle of meeting targets under its programs before falling back on bad habits.

Ghana’s relationship with the IMF is a cycle of meeting targets under its programs before falling back on bad habits.
And Ghana never fulfilled any of those bad conditionalities even to the point of IMF threatening to prevent Ghana from approaching the international financial market.
It was mutually beneficial, IMF get a good name from Ghana own progress in economy and living standards while Ghana gets free money from them.

IMF money has always been free money for Ghana.
IMF knows Ghana will never forfill their terms but will still give it in order to look good to unsuspecting countries like Kenya.
How far with you 2.5 billion dollars from them?

You can read from here
GHANA WENT at it own pace and created an economy stronger and larger than that of Kenya.

And IMF got pissed each time.

Today, Kenya is at where Ghana was 40 years ago.
A higher poverty levels, undeveloped service infrastructure and an unstable political environment.

At least for once they got Kenya population is 48.7M now. IMF is bad news. We had our trouble in 90s. We are very angry that we are back at IMF after 20yrs of peace. We know what IMF will demand - high taxes, cutback on social spending, job freezes on gov or even retrenchment, and finally cut on any development.

Stupid Chinese colony

Kenyan Treasury officials are no doubt worried about what's going to happen next Thursday. The date marks the end of a five year repayment holiday given by the China Exim Bank for the $1.4 billion loan used to build the Nairobi to Naivasha Standard Gauge Railway.

Unless officials from both countries come up with a last-minute deal to restructure either the loan or China’s broader debt portfolio in Kenya, the Treasury’s going to have to cut a pretty large check using what little money it has available
