Any city settlment on the banks of a major river like the Niger cannot toy with its water channelisation system. When it is urbaned up it is bound to act as a funnel for other settlements higher up. In those places drains are more important than even roads. A pity town planning lags severely behind land occupancy in most parts of Nigeria.

I don't know why Nigerians don't take weather(climate) situation seriously. They just leave their house in the morning without first checking what's to come later in the day. The gutter is too wide, I'm always scared of coming close to it and I don't even know why they haven't cover it all these while...last year, this kind of accident happened too.

Something needs to be done about the culverts on Onitsha.... The government should ensure they're covered asap. We need to move away from this open drainage system

The sins commit in that State alone are more than the ones committed in South West, South South and North.
