I want to measure real progress, not some stvpid photos. I want to see photos of farmers in your country using new technologies to farm or harvest.

I want to see road construction in rural areas. New schools, water, irrigation projects How is kenya preparing for oil exploration, AfFTAC etc. tangible things that will improve the lives of people.

Alliance is not international school. It part of kenya nationals school - very bright kids from poor background like that Maasai are admitted if they score very high marks in KCPE. Definitely Alliance High School graduate will take any Tanzania round in so many circles. That kid you see is studying Engineering...the TZ kid who looks bi-racial definitely cannot smell that boy in academic

Alliance is definitely one of the greatest school (actually THE GREATEST HIGH SCHOOL) in kenya with huge history - and most kenya leaders are product of the Alliance.

On the subject of African teacher qualifications here is comedy gold from Naij,Edo state to be exact! The gov puts a teacher on the spot publicly forcing her to read aloud. In typical Naij style this place is notorious famous for the unimaginable; a story for another day. She struggles to pronounce words like a Kenyan third grader reading a high school history essay. Listen to her torturing herself trying to read a simple legal document at 4.10 : "resting at..resting at-," "residing at! Come on!"

It's a transgenerational tragedy! Most African teachers perform worse than developed world kids when they are tested on kids exam. The exception is kenya. Imagine when they tested Zanzibar teachers - they scored 50% - and they are suppose to teach!. Kenya teachers core 95% or about.

Meanwhile the average developed world teacher has masters - especially in places like Finland and such.

Africa has to rethink their priorities - teachers and doctors should be highly paid and highly respected - and we should insist on teachers with highest possible education teaching our kids - and pay them well. For example we can slowly require all primary teachers to have bachelors degree - and all high school to have master degrees - and all higher education to have PHD.

Look at South Africa - stuck in middle class rut - now overtaken by Egypt - and has no great future ahead because it's education outcomes are such that it cannot produce highly skilled labour their economy requires to shift gears and accelerate their development. Now they are stuck in gear 2.

Kenyans are resourcefully, cooperative and smart that nearly every KENYAN (farmer, employee, informal worker ) belong to sacco ( 14M kenyans out of adult population of 25m )....where they get loan for cheap...11%...mostly 4-6 times their saving..while earning divided.

Some of biggest Saccos include Mwalimu (Teachers), Harambee (Gov employees), Stima(Kenya Power sector), Kenya Police and Afya (Health).
