One Kenyan Bank - funded 19 students to attend IVY league;
KENSAP did about 20.
ZAWADI maybe 10.

Those are some programmes for rural poor already OVERTOOK GHANA

Now many rich kids just sit for SATS and apply - these are kids in many Kenya international schools and such.

WASSCE must be so crap for Ghana to lead it. Nigeria overtook kenya I think in 2008. We fixed our universities and expanded them RAPIDLY.

Ghana is holding unto number 2 due to continue trends in economic gain ( it is very much more expensive to be educated in the USA ) and continuous performance in regional exams. our student who recently wins the best wassce result was recently awarded scholarship in top ivy league universities.

One of the gain that is visble in our educational sector is the continuous economic gain we benefit in it . when it come to USA STUDENT DESTINATION " GHANA IS THE SECOND IN THE WHOLE OF AFRICA , only south Africa leads here and when it comes to inward mobility trend, Ghana is the third receiver of foreign student in the whole of Africa after south Africa and Egypt.
