fifa and uefa have already lost relevance in the eyes of the international community, see how americans turned fifa upside down because of hosting cheesy the only people wailing are people that can't affect change, I don't feel sorry for uefa, you have a global brand, after world cup it's uefa champions league final, ordinary nba dey generate billions in American market alone, you have the entire world's attention and you are making peanuts
"Ordinary [NBA]"? You do realize the "B" stands for basketball, not badminton, right?

They're friends and Nasser have strong links in BeIN Sports company, who holds TV rights to the Champions League.
So, it's business for the PSG owner.

Florentino Perez, chairman of The Super League:

“If the players participating in the European Super League are banned from playing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we will create our own World Cup tournament. It is not a big deal.”

If as a fan you are not okay with ESL, it is no problem don't watch.
You can always watch Sheffield United vs Fulham on a hot Saturday afternoon wink tongue.
Lol don't you just love Perez.

What I don't get is why fans of arsenal, Tottenham, and the rest that hardly make UCl will not support this idea, I can't imagine an AC Milan fan that knows his club is on the rise and needs that cash and exposure to return back to the peak speak against ESL

I don't understand your Vexation with the proposed League. If People as you are this concerned with Nigeria League, perhaps the League might be on par with EPL and Co.

Who cares how PL and Co pan out? As far as I am entertained every mid-week with best of Football - Chikena. I don't understand why you're hawking the Matter like Gala in Traffic.

Look at Burnley Players? Do they look like Footballers? Some of them be like UFC Fighters. Too strong and rugged. They are in no way playing attractive Football, but gbas gbos kinda football.

Did you see United vs Burnley? Look at Wood, Westwood and Greenwood? Which of the Trio really looks like a football Player? Well..... correct Answer has said itself with a Brace and scintillating Performance.

Be honest with yourself, how many times have you sat down to see Matches like Burnley vs Westbrom? We're following EPL because of Top 6 Clubs. We're following UCL because of Real, Barca, Juventus and Co. It's just Bayern that gonna be missed, rest German Clubs are non existence.

Super League has come to stay. Can't wait to have PES2022 or FIFA2022 exclusively for Super League.
shocked thou has shoplifted my thoughts

Madrid is walking away from a competition they have eaten for breakfast, UCL, and seeking something higher and more competitive, while some teams haven't joined may still prefer being upon of weak teams, e.g Bayern

It is easy na. City has been making the CL regularly, PSG too Arsenal not so much

If they ask you who do you think will make top 4 next season City or Arsenal who will you pick?

The only reason Arsenal is popular among our age range is because they were succesful at a time when we were growing up same with Chelsea
More people under 20yrs will probably support City more than Arsenal and in the next 20yrs they will grow up and have economic power to buy City merchandize
Arsenal will be lucky if the whole ESL pulls through, it's unfortunate current teams better than them, teams like Leicester might not be in ESL

If you know nothing about how things work in the U.k then make you research. It isn't like the US where the Constitution protects property rights. In the UK, the Parliament is sovereign and can do anything it wants through the passage of an Act of Parliament. If they consider the superleague an illegitimate league which will affect the good of the nation they can stop all the big6 clubs from breaking out. This isn't really an issue, it would fly through parliament and have cross-party support. Will United,City, Chelsea etc move away from Britain? No
But would such parliament disagree on the basis of 6clubs bringing in that kind of finance into the economy and probability of the next 4 teams playing in UCL. Meaning half or more EPL teams may be playing in Europe next seasons. Then you consider the number of English players that would benefit

Stop typing bollocks. This is honestly worse than the NBA or the NFL. None of that American bull.shit here.

That was simply the way their model of sporting competition was designed from the beginning. And even then they have more teams across the country, a well developed and well funded scheme/culture that allows the sport to flourish at amateur, grassroots, youth, college level, and even built-in albeit flawed systems to ensure some form of meritocracy and checks and balances, whether between shareholders and players or between teams.

In this case the 13 richest teams literally chose to conspire and kill off an existing system of thousands of teams and doom them to literal subservience for the sole purpose of adding more money to their already extraordinarily rich pockets.
aint you exaggerating the whole "kill off" how does money kill the game when it make available more resources and facilities. Lack of investment was what killed off series A then, investment was what made many of us twist from LA liga to EPL. Investment is what brought about the tough middle teams in EPL...

So how is ESL a kill off, instead it's an expansion.

Parliament will still abstain from the whole thing when they see the full details of the deal. The reaction from Boris and his gang is still reactionary at best and was initially based on the media rhetoric of "ESL will kill football and English league" which is not true. It's just Skysports and other english media with vested interest in the UCL as per broadcasters who are just using the line to gas light people because of the introduction of a UCL competitor that could affect their market

Ofcourse the money they would lose is motivation for their lose.

Because I for one, if Perez's whole talk of reducing match length pans out, and it goes from almost 2hours to a hour game of 25mins each half with 10 mins break. I would watch it, because players won't be jogging at intervals and have more energy and we will watch more actions with less data spent.

When they gave Qatar hosting rights, it didn't destroy football

When uefa gave more money to big teams and caused the segregation that we see today it didnt destroy football

When they created the coefficient system to favour big teams, it didnt destroy football

When big clubs in England broke away to form the premier league and teams went from having 90% British players to 20% British players e no destroy football

How was the champions league formed? All these things were created out of greed, uefa and fifa dey form saint, the sport has evolved

American sports teams had to evolve to be what they are today, go and read their history, as long as there is money to be made, grassroot football will still exist but you see that gist of small club in division 4 climbing and dominating the world one day cheesy na gist it will never happen, let's stop fooling ourselves

Major franchises play each other everytime in American sports, it increases the quality of games, quality of the sport and quality of talent on display

Same people when dey vex no dey watch games between small teams but they want to preserve status quo cause reasons cheesy

Man city will beat half the league, 1 team will manage to beat them once

Una say na quality football una dey watch

Give major teams the resources to build themselves, it will be unpredictable, fast paced and entertaining

65% of football is predictable, especially big teams vs small teams

Games will be legendary and we will really see which players are truly good, scoring 4 against Sunderland is easy, come do am against big teams make we see

Lol, they actually threaten to ban players from those 12 teams grin impossible infact if that happens who will watch euros. It's like banning spain's first XI, england, Italy, Belgium, and major players in countries like Netherlands, France, Croatia, portugal that's eight major countries already. So their National FA will just sit down and watch FIFA and UEFA ban them... grin grin

are you minding them

Same players that refused to collect pay cut are talking against super league

Clubs are a businesses, they are all dragging debts

Almost all major teams arent making as much as comparable rivals in other sports, players should accept a pay cut for their clubs to survive and grow or quit and go play for smaller clubs that will pay less, you cant eat your cake and have it, almost every club is running at a loss, without a rich owner that is willing to spend anyhow, you can't get good players, why did Bruno Fernandez leave sporting Lisbon, was it because he loves the game?

Any player that does anyhow, will have his contract terminated and blacklisted by the founding 12, stupid overpaid pigs
