Still, nothing validates that brutal attack. It is too much and that could be treated as attempted murder. No wise person would do that to the least officer.

The police maybe bad and wicked,yes,but smashing a bottle over someone's head,even if the person is wicked or bad,is akin to attempted murder.
He must face the music.
It's Lagos state government that should take the greater blame.They have institutionalised agberoism and toutism throughout Lagos state,that some of them see themselves above all law enforcement officers.

You think Nigerian police use finger print,number plate to do arrests.
The majority of arrests are done by old fashioned informants and contacts.
Someone in that area knows him,from there they find out where he lives and his name.
They go to his house,if he has absconded,they arrest as many family members as they can;or his wife;one of them will surely know his hiding place.By 1am or 2am they burst there and pick him up.
In less than 48hrs,that guy would be picked,as long as he is still in Nigeria.
What has he now gained from his one minute of playing a tough guy?He has lost his means of livelihood and many if not the majority of his remaining productive years on earth.

Some people are supporting this act, just the same way they urged him on. This is an unharmed traffic warder and I can bet that some people have not seen where all these touts with rickety vehicles such as Danfo, Micra, Keke, dead pick-ups drive. They know their vehicles are not in good conditions and they can beg their way out but they drive like madmen looking for private motors to codemn or looking for somebody to kill. I pity him not. infact he should be sentenced to life imprisonment on two murder count charges.

See let me tell you something, everyone is says NIGERIA police are forked up, this and that but if they mistakenly go on strike, I swear you sef go feel the heat!!

Go back to your history book and read about what happened when police went on two days strike in the 80's then come back and continue defending the idiot that broke bottle on the head of a law enforcement officer!!!

The Commissioner of Police has again warned the general public to desist from launching attacks on police personnel and other security agencies in the state as such will be tactically resisted and culprits (attackers) be dealt with in line with the provisions of the law.

He has vowed to get the fleeing driver arrested and prosecuted so as to serve as deterrent to others like him in our society; and to ascertain that the command will not tolerate any act of lawlessness in the state.

I certainly do not condone the brutal attack on the traffic police man. It was a very despicable and cowardly act. However, it's worth noting that citizens that have often been brutalized and dehumanized by the Police, sometimes lash out out at every chance they get especially if they can get away with it. The callous indifference and the barbaric behavior of the Police themselves breed and encourage such wanton and illegal behavior.

Govt needs to make a scape-goat of criminals like this, including that man urging him on.
No mater what, you still not treat another Man like this, irrespective that Policemen also treat innocent people like that.
Two wrongs dont make a Rigth,

As Govt descends heavily on those who assault law enforcement Officers, it must likewise, ensure zero-tolerance for Policemen who assault Citizens,
Its a two-way thing, Respect, Begets Respect.

The actions of the driver is so wrong in all ramifications irrespective of what transpired before the start of the video recording and I condemn his his actions in the strongest terms.

However, it will be great if the police will apply same speed used in coming out with this statement in condemning the actions of the driver and bringing the culprit to book to other criminal cases that trend on social media against police officers. This was same speed they used for the one way driver incident few days back.
