Even towns like Rustenburg building better ones, well Rustenburg is considered a city due to its size, development and GDP of $9billion but in SA we call it a town

Anyway lemme mind my own business
Going by rvp's sentiments, you're implying that both ngara, Abuja and Accra are below Rustenburg grin?

Anyway, I was just passing cool

No Kenya is not broke like Ghana. This Pokouasi is 33M usd project funded by the Americans donation. Too poor.

We are spending 500M usd in suswa - from our taxes.
Yes, your country is too poor and that is why it doesn't have money to invest in it power and water supply systems.

Pokuasi Bsp is a 498 million dollars project and will be running 580 MVA transformers

Something that cant be found in your country.

We have spent 13 billion dollars on the Power sector from our taxes already.

I hope your country can do that level of investment.

The largest Transformers at BSPs in kenya are the medium range 350 MVAs

Rvp, the people you're debating with are not ready to reason. They are green with anvy and not even a slight effort in Your argument will change anything grin

See, if you want to see real jealous, just stay tuned smiley.

Anyway... so guys, I don't think there is any country in Sub-Sahara Africa that can stand the projects going on in Kenya and that is a plain fact.

Lemme just narrow this down to Nairobi alone so as to avoid the looong argument.

Nairobi is currently bulding the tallest tower in africa(approved)

Nairobi is currently bulding the tallest apartment in Sub-Sahara Africa at 44fls.

Nairobi outside south Africa in Sub-Sahara Africa is bulding the most breathtaking roads in africa:- upperhill viaduct (elevated), Nairobi expressway way(eleveted with 9 interchanges, electronic traffic control systems , gold brt lanes, 14lanes at widest), ngong road (phase 2), Western bypass (10 interchange, 12 lane at widest, some sections will be eleveted) etc.

Affordable houses in ngara(including 8 skyscrapers)

Two rivers city.

Konza city - south Korea had just signed a contract to build one of the biggest science university in africa.

Etc etc etc.

We are turning our Sowetto like low rise gov owned houses into high rises. I don't think after Nairobi has delivered say 100,000 units - Any Sub Sahara City will come close in terms of the size of the city. 500,000 units - that is huge - and that city of 2m people.

We are demolishing 17,000 Soweto like houses - so we can deliver more than 100,000 units. Phase alone will deliver 70,000 units.

Progress? Ngara is completed and sold off. Kariokor (Jeevanjee) 2,000 units are under construction. Shauri Moyo starting soon. Pangani too.

Phase 1 - 67,000 units
The first phase of the regeneration project, which is ongoing, concerns Ngong Road Phases I and II, Uhuru Estate, New Ngara, Old Ngara, Suna Road, Pangani, and Jeevanjee/Bachelor Quarters.

The Pangani project began last year as the flagship project for the first phase of the regeneration project that is aimed to put up between 10,000 and 12,000 housing units upon completion.

Phase 2 - has started with EOI
https://constructionreviewonline.com/news/kenya/affordable-housing-project-in-nairobi-nms-to-redevelop-10-county-government-estates/
As part of the second phase of the affordable housing project in Nairobi, the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) has earmarked 10 more County government estates for redevelopment. These estates include Bahati, Bondeni, California, Embakasi, Jericho, Kariobangi North, Lumumba, Maringo, Woodley, and Ziwani estates.

The entire project is 498 million dollars with a 580 MV BSP and a 485 MVA BSP plus a 300 kilometer 330kv line from each of the BSP to Kumasi.

I'm yet to see a decent highway in kenya that can match the Motorway.

Just in case your dumb self don't know, Mida is a gov't of Ghana agency which is funded by Ghana, MCA and development partners.

When will kenya be able to raise a 13 billion dollars investment that is badly needed by it power sector, to modernise the power sector in your broke country?

Is 13 billion dollars too huge for your country to spend on one sector? grin grin

That kind of investment will bankrupt kenya.

Yes, I think Two Rivers, is one best place to invest. I have seen some really cheap units. It's going to become a mini city. But someone need to dualize the entire Limuru road.

There is not even a single 580 MVA bulk supply station anywhere in kenya.
That is a technology your country will never be able to acquire.

All your bulk supply stations run on 220mva grin grin grin

When your distribution service runs the latest switches and techs in the distribution network, you don't need big loand.

Pokuasi BSP is larger than all the BSPs in kenya.

I meant South Africa soweto like estates. I didn't mean Soweto Slum in Kayole. Slum Upgrading and the whole shebang is quite difficult because the land is illegal. Most of the residence will eventually be demolished. Soweto slum I bet sit on riparian land. Kibera most of it reserve land of some sort - Railway, nairobi dam and ngong forest - and many roads reserve. So eventually about half of it need to be demolished - and the remainder upgraded.

Don't confuse SUP with AHP - Slum Upgrading- and Affordable Housing.

More diarrhea - you've lost a lot from that stupid decision - your benefactor - the US has really kicked your tiny butt around.

One acre substation cannot compare to many in Kenya - big ones Suswa, Isinya, Olessos - these contain power from our main power - and regionally with Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania.

Suswa is like the main natioanl substation - bigger than anything in SSA Africa outside South Africa I bet.

Isinya - has capacity of 1200MW - and supply Nairobi with Geothermal and Ethiopia/Tanzania power.

Olesoss - supply western power and interlink with Uganda.

64 dude.

This rural kenya - Nakuru to Eldoret - by African traveller - you see the big difference.

I doubt in the entire west african you can even match that - see how well maintained, trimmed the roads are - and see a climbing lane at every hill - ensuring traffic flows fast.

Do you see any RAMSHACKLE of a car in our roads.

I already explained - corona is one of the problems - we have started - that is most difficult. Gov was hoping to get 1B dollars annualy from kenyan by leving housing fund fee on salaries - court blocked that - so now it gone to private sector. There is already 26 BILLION DOLLARS committed.

We lost nothing and it was a smart decision to cancel fraudulent deals.

They can go to Kenya and commit those frauds but not in Ghana. We don't allow that here.

The US thought we will be dumb like Kenya where that they can boss around and loot.

Suswa station in kenya is a tiny 220MVA station it is not even worth comparing it to a 580MVA station.

Mention a station in Kenya that is even large enough to compare to the 485MVA Kasoa BSP and I will clap for your country.
grin grin grin

After so many years of being independent, your leaders only now grew the brain to extend your power transmission lines to connect your villages and your northern territories and it neighbouring countries.

Suswa is a tiny 220MVA station, even the 375MVA Accra Central Bulk Supply station is larger than it.
Isinya is also a 220MVA station

you guys are a joke, anyway, you don't have much electricity to go round so how will you be able to built a BSP with even 400MVA capacity?
