You're talking absolute nonsense, my friend. Comparing the North East to the South East is comparing apples and oranges. The fundamentals are not the same. The values are not the same. The people are not the same.

While Boko Haram is an extension of the stupid Islamic extremism, fanaticism, and uneducated mindlessness that has ravaged the North since time immemorial, what is playing out in the East is a direct consequence of the government's idiotic failure to handle/placate a marginalised people with genuine grievances.

These people's clear idoology is secession (or at least restructuring to give them a better deal in this failed contraption called Nigeria). They were entirety non violent, hence they called for referendum. Rather than engage them peacefully on their legitimate demands, you branded them terrorists and lumped them together with Boko Haram. Hounded their members and applied heavy-handed state aggression.

Now, this has forced their hand into armed struggle. They are now applying targeted violence against oppressive agents of the Nigerian state - represented by the military and police, and to some extent Fulani/abokki targets who are the main ethnic bloc behind all of the injustice. Unlike BH and the North East, IPOB isn't driven by mindless and meaningless Islamic ideology. They have their eyes firmly on their achievable objective, which is to force the Nigerian/Fulani oppressors to secede, restructure and destroy the shaky House of Cards called Nigeria once and for all.

Now let me ask you, how many years did it take us to know about the Azukwu whatever SARS killing?

One bad aspect of guerrilla warfare like this is that taking back the weapon from them after the aim for the war is achieved is almost impossible. They will continue to hunt until nothing is left. A good example is the rebels in Congo, libya under gaddafi and even bokoharam. Freedom comes at a cost, but sometime the price is too hefty for the next ten generations to pay.

Of what use is a police force accused of harvesting human organs and dumping people in rivers?
Or an army that is the battering ram of miyeti allah?

You are dreaming, brother. The two aren't the same. The Igbos never thought of taking up arms until the government that is saddled with the responsibility of protecting her citizens fell out of line. They open all the borders to flood in serpents from Sahel, armed them against the peace loving Southeast. Mind you that he Buhari started all these. Since his first tenure, he had been having a field day with his terrorist group in Agatu village and other Northeast Christian dominated villages. He had been smilling at the results of his Fulani boys going scot-free under the shield of the military, after much killings. He thought it will continue that way.
The cries and the fireful prayers of many anointed pastors in this nation have saturated the heavens consequent of the emergence of this deadly squad from the Southeast.
God gave his and his terrorist cabinet all through their past tenure to repent but they refused. It's late now, and they can't win the war.
Southeast has been marginalized and all their efforts in nation's building despised and opposed by almost all the past government and by the alliance of the North and the West. Now, it pleased God to raise saviors out of the same region.
Even if this country will continue to be one, Southeast has registered a liberating influence that they are coming up to lead the nation.
