Why Are Prices Of Food Going Up During Fasting. by Charleys(op): 4:13am On May 02, 2021
60% of the Nigerian population are fasting, meaning that no one is eating. This should make prices lower because the seller will want to sell out his goods because no one is buying.

But that is not the case here. Instead the prices are going up because people are still eating.

I need an explanation for this.

Lol... Muslims eat more nutritious and expensive food during Ramadan, also most of the northerners don't produce or sell foodstuff during Ramadan as they take the whole month off commercial activities.

There is only one thing that can push up the prices of goods and services- that's if the demand is greater than the supply. An increase in demand without corresponding increase in supply will lead to an increase in prices of goods or services as the case may be.
