So why are Christians not interested in the Messiah that is still to come whom? by Nobody: 12:13pm On May 02, 2021
The two verses below shows that Jesus clearly stated that He is not interested in the kingdom of this world, but it appears that Christians are hell bent on forcing Him to come back to be a King in the world. How can you be forcing someone to become King when He is not interested?

John 6:15 New King James Version
Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

John 18:36 New King James Version
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

So why are Christians not interested in the Messiah that is still to come whom God has promised?

Jesus was a Jew and He practiced Judaism and God's promise in Judaism is about a Messiah that is to come that will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem and restore peace in this world and will not come back a second time to restore peace in this world, mind you Jesus prophesied the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem but did not prophesy that He will come back to rebuild it. So why are Christians not interested in the Messiah that is still to come whom God has promised?

Jesus actually preached about a Kingdom of God ruled by him ( the messaiah) to be set up in this world. However, the Kingdom is not made of this World but it comes from above hence the kingdom does not appear in the same manner as other kingdoms of the world e.g by defending against or conquering the enemy.

The kingdom of God though comes when the children of God live their lives as though it's already here, then they become the light of the world, and the world shall see the son of man in all of his glory.

There were specific kingdom teachings and parables jesus gave his followers for them to quickly usher in this kingdom of God.

That's religion for you, plainliers will always pick the one they can use to deceive others who are gullible.
Ask yourself who Jesus was talking to in John in Chapter 14 verses 2 and 28.? It was His disciples and not the crowd He gave the good news to and Jesus did not tell His apostles they will be waiting for over 2000 years for Him to come and take them to the place He is going to prepare for them.

God did not promise a Messiah that will come twice, The Messiah God promised will bring peace to the world once and for all.

So do you say that it is recorded that Christ came back to take them where He is, as He said?

Did He not leave them behind on earth?

Where did Jesus tell the crowd He preached to that He was coming back soon to take them or be their King. Even when they tried to make Him a King He did not say to them that He was coming back soon to be their King after 2000 years.

If Jesus did not tell the people He preached to that He was coming back to take them or be their King after 2000 years, why are Christians always saying that Jesus is coming soon when He never said He was coming back soon?

I noticed you did not answer my question but directly proceeded to ask yours thereby avoiding mine! Ok.

Like you rightly observed, He did not tell the crowd these things, for they did not care to know neither did they ask Him.

But He Clearly Told His People, the Disciples!

And we want to be His Disciples of this day and thus we are privy to have heard all that He Told them.

So why I are we telling you all that He is Coming?

Because this time, He Does not Come Quietly and Peacefully as He did before, but He Comes in Great Anger and Vexation, upon all who did not hear His Plea for repentance from offences.

We could have kept it privately but the disciples did not keep it privately, hence it has reached us and we in turn do not keep it to ourselves because know what the disciples knew, that it would be good in the eye of God if people heard it also and perhaps, they change from doing bad things and wicked things!

Are the crowd that saw Jesus and believed all His Miracles not His disciples too? So why did Jesus not tell the crowd He was coming back soon to take them or be their King.

How come Christians today who never saw Jesus believed they are more of His disciples than the crowd that followed Him and Christains today know that Jesus is coming back soon when Jesus never told His disciples and the crowd He was coming back soon to be their King?

I'm not avoiding your question, only that you were drifting away from the main topic.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”
Luke 19:11-27
'11While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.
12He said: “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return.
13So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’
14“But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.
15“He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.
16“The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’
17“ ‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’
18“The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’
19“His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
20“Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.
21I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’
22“His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?
23Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
24“Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25“ ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
26“He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them —bring them here and kill them in front of me.’ ”

Opening threads and in this manner, construct it with ill-informed comments as in the original post, betrays lack of full understanding of who really Jesus Christ is. Luke 19:11-27 is one expression about the kingship of God, captured in a parable given by Jesus, the best at storytelling, using parables to share moral and spiritual lessons

ThePlainTruth, if you're interested, I easily can shared another confession of kingship uttered again by God i.e. where He said: 'They don't want me to be their king any longer'.

Death will no longer exist, grief, crying and pain will exist no longer, neither shall there be anguish, sorrow and mourning because the old order of things by then, would have passed away

Jesus was clear to the crowd that followed Him that He was not interested in becoming King in this world and Jesus also stated in the open to the people that His kingdom is not of this world.
So why are those challenging my post so hell bent on quoting irrelevant verses to back up their own false claims that Jesus is coming back to be King in this world? Every Christian today are the followers of Jesus and there was not where Jesus told the crowd following Him that He was coming back to be a King in this world or that He was going to prepare a place for them. Yes Jesus did promise His disciples that He was going to provide a place for them and that he will come back for them but Jesus never promised the crowd and the people He preached to that He was going to come back for them.

BassReeves are you seeing this?

Do we say that He is Coming to Be King of this mad and evil world and its evil people which should be destroyed and He said He shall so destroy it? Or,

Do we not say that He is Coming Back to Judge All and To Permanently Dispose All Wicked and Evil souls, who have done evil, from His Sight?

If you did not get the memo it is because you are not one of us, for we already knew that He was King even before He Came to the earth as Man and He Remained Always The King after departing it.

So Kingship is not our problem at all!

ThePlainTruth:

...Jesus never promised the crowd and the people He preached to that He was going to come back for them.

Neither did Jesus tell the Crowd the meaning and interpretation of the Parables, Nor did He Tell the crowd to wait in Jerusalem for the "promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of me!"

Did He tell the Crowd too about the promise of the Father?

The prophecy has been fulfilled but as usual it is only true believers that can decipher it's fulfilment!
Do you believe that Jesus the young first century Jewish carpenter is the promised Messiah (Christ)?
Well during his lifetime 99% of Jews never believe he is the long awaited Messiah because they were having wrong expectations, but faithful and humble Jews were very observant of the happenings back then and they were able to grasp that Jesus is the promised Messiah.

Can you imagine that Jesus' opposers after seeing him performing great miraculous works
still demands for a sign from heaven before they can believe that he is the promised Messiah! his response? "i will tear down this temple and rebuilding it in three days! John 2:18-19
Well did he tear down their temple literally?
Was there any three days rebuilding of any temple ever since then?

If you want to know what Our Master, Lord and King Jesus (Christ) meant my brothers and i (Jehovah's Witnesses) will TEACH you only when you're willing to learn! smiley

John 2 vs 18 - 22(ERV)

18 Some Jews said to Jesus, “Show us a miracle as a sign from God. Prove that you have the right to do these things.”
19 Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple and I will build it again in three days.”
20 They answered, “People worked 46 years to build this Temple! Do you really believe you can build it again in three days?”

21 But the temple Jesus meant was his own body.
22 After he was raised from death, his followers remembered that he had said this. So they believed the Scriptures, and they believed the words Jesus said.

of course you cannot stop lying oh daughter of your father the devil:

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a
murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Isa 3:24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

The kingdom of God is no where else but in your heart if you believe.

Jesus Christ is King in your heart not in the world.

Now, imagine the majority of the people in the world believing in Christ having Jesus in their heart as a King, that's how Jesus is ruling the world as a King, not like a physical King.
