Also,the expansion on the other side was wrongly done.
When I mention expansion,I'm referring to something like 7×3^2+3×5^3.
So, you are wrong.

1×343+p×49+4×7+3×1=549
343+49p+28+3=549
374+49p=549
49p=549-374
49p=175
p=175÷49=3.6

My solution seems better as I insert the value to the previous question and I got approximately the answer 550.4
You know the left hand side was in base ten already so I didn't touch it
