Nigerians force hospital staff to accept man they rejected.

An injured man was rushed to a government hospital in Abuja for treatment but the hospital staff rejected him.

Seeing that he was in a very critical condition, angry Nigerians created a scene at the hospital entrance until the hospital staff were forced to accept him.

It is only in Nigeria you see hospitals meant to save lives reject people ,sometimes this victims die at the entrance of the hospital gate because they were denied access into the hospital by the hospital management. No hospital in Benin ,or Togo tries that,their license will be withdrawn,it is against their law.

But in Naija ,hospitals will be rejecting people as if they do selective treatment .looking for those with minor cases of headache, body pain, malaria etc.


Same way Nigeria police behaves, they run away from armed robbers,terrorists, bandits,militants. But will be patrolling looking for yahoo boys, pickpockets, responsible citizens to arrest and extort, even meddling into issues of husband and wife quarrel.

What actually led the people of old to medical fields was passion for care.
But today,its passion for employment opportunities
No wonder victims of accidents or robberies treated as thrash and allowed to die without even administering first aid in hospitals these days.

There has to be a legislation to put and end to such.

Nobody likes to rack up bad stats I guess. They will consider their reputation as they seek to admit patients.

I can't comprehend the level of lack of empathy with most of our medical institutions(Hospitals)....
That's why I have HMO for myself and love ones in my care....
Can't face the pain from knowing I lost a close relation because of a medical or financial incapability...NEVER!

This foolish practice of not attending to emergency cases needs to come to an abrupt end.

Someone is critically injured, the first point of call should be first aid atleast before doing any other thing else.

Look how they are lackadaisical towards saving someone's life.

Another thing I find hard to fathom is this police report of a thing.
I find it appalling. Even if the person were to be a criminal, and maybe in the course committing a crime, he/she gets injured, criminals are treated before being handed to the police.

Innocent people have suffered because of that unnecessary law.

Nigerian medical personnel always reject people in critical condition because they know they don't have the proper skill set and equipment to handle such cases ..they prefer Malaria and Typhoid

Nigerian hospitals hate emergencies....
That's how they will be negotiating deposits until the patient eventually dies..

Nigerians need to understand that there is such a thing as REFERRAL. Hospitals do not reject patients they refer them to facilities that are better equipped and referral is a known part of treatment. People need to be educated on how the healthcare system works. Forcing an ill-equipped hospital to take Kn a complex case is very wrong and will likely lead to worse morbidity or mortality.

It is rampant in the society. Politicians, lecturers, police, judiciary, vigilantes they all use human lives to count scores directly and indirectly.

Life has become such a cheap commodity in this country that it no longer moves people nor make news any more. May God never let me get used to death that my heart will be unmoved seeing somoene at the brink of death.

Sometimes I wonder whether these so called doctors have human heart and conscience at all. Maybe their sympathy organ has been replaced with Akpu

only till when they stock up hospitals with good treatment facility for free if not they will run at a loss.

This is welcome news. More of this please. We need to make hospitals to stop rejecting patients.

Meanwhile our dumb ass lawmakers won't make laws on issues like this. They're deliberating on on laws to establish a database for f*cking cows!

The question is why did they reject?
I have worker in hospital where we had to admit patients on the floor and use plaster to stick the fluid giving set to the wall because there were no beds and drip stand.
I can see many ignorant comments here, go and vent your anger on your government
