For those that would be saying that Hackers would hack the servers and change the results,,, I want to know why those hackers have not hacked the Banks servers all these while, or you think those hackers don't need money?
That means, it is only the votes (and maybe perhaps, only the Election Results) that they are interested in?? (as if it concerns them sef)

..
In Nigeria, they would burn communication masts to disenfranchise the opposition.
Re: Electronic-Voting: The Best Type Of Election Suitable For Nigeria And Nigerians by Heffalump(m):
@OP: Even the almighty America is not using this technology as analyzed. However, the initiative of exploring standard and firm IT tech in our electioneering process should be encouraged. But be it known that Nigerians are criminally minded and are always trying to evade any security measures. Using the OP's idea explained, what stops a greedy and desperate politician from arranging a private voting center where he'll be ready to pay high amounts to collect votes? You'll agreed that very many hungry Nigerians are ready to sell their conscience for a plate of porridge. Electronic voting should be introduced but not privately, a designated polling booths must be used with high security.

Owners of Nigeria would never smell power again, they wont allow it.

BVN/ NIN can help for remote credible elections but politicians won't let this work because they usually win by ballot stuffing and snatching

Who want to monitor it with the like of pantami in charge of communication and digital economyhuh?

We need to come to the roundable to decide if we want to continue as Nigeria, the fraud has been on for too long.

Its not farfetched now: President (the head) - dullar
Vice President - Professor of Law with the position of pastor to buy votes in the market square of life

What if parties compromise telcos and plant sim cards into their records for voting sake?
It is cool in the sense that political thuggery will be replaced by hacking.

If the retrogressive abokki retarrds holding Nigeria down would ever agree.

I would even say that illiterates should be denied the right to vote. Let only those who are at least secondary school educated be allowed to vote. Enough of these subhuman almajiri urchins littering everywhere whose only usefulness is to vote for their Islamic/northern champions every election cycle.

Even if electronic and remote voting system is adopted, Nigerian politicians will invent new means to circumvent the system such:
* hack the server
* vandalise communication equipments in certain area densely populated by the opposition
* bribe telecommunication companies to cut off network from areas of opposition advantage

Fear Nigerian politicians

The best era of Electronic-Voting would be the time when we can vote remotely with our phones without physically having to go to the Polling-units..

And that is: starting with the scanning of the bar-codes on our Voter's Card with our phones, then do fingerprint identification and authentication with our phones, and then vote with our phones, and finally submit our votes online with our phones too..

Nevertheless, this wouldn't stop the manual voting methods at the Polling-units for the sake of those who might not have access to the use of high-end phones, but then, Accreditation and transmission of the results from these Polling-units must both be done electronically by the trained Election Officials.

With these methods properly put in place, the Nigerian Elections can have turnouts as high as 98%, because this would avail a lot of citizens the opportunity to vote from home.

(My Opinion Though...)

A mighty fool spotted shaa,, but no wahalla.

You think that such election would ever be based on a weak technology or what??
Every technology is vulnerable.
Besides, the tech ecosystem in Nigeria is not ripe enough for the idea.

How many people uses a smartphone in the country?? How many people have access to datahuh How many people can actually use a smartphone??

You expect mama basira and iya chioma who uses a touch light phone to vote?? How?? Buy a smartphone just to vote??

Even the west have not adopted this approach 100%. You want Nigeria with epileptic power supply, network problems to adopt this?? Maybe in next 100 years.

So many questions needs to be answered. However, Nigeria is not ripe for such.
Re: Electronic-Voting: The Best Type Of Election Suitable For Nigeria And Nigerians by ArcSEMPECJ(m): 11:14am On May 06, 2021
OP . , you can only have this kind of election I'm a system that is already working, organised and perhaps getting more advanced .....

Simple Voters card, NIC card, name them, Nigeria is taking years to fully implement such...

Besides the mindset of majority of Nigerian politicians and that of the masses are not in anyway aligned or similar,..

You cannot create peace in an extended family where each nuclear family lacks peace....
Restructuring comes to mind,.
..regional government of common minds not a contraception

Lol
It's nice
It's just that election malpractices will increase.
Take it or leave it.
Online Vs Physical, which do you think it's easier to cheat with?
-Double voting.
-Under age voting.
-A voter having more than one voter's card.
-Playing upon the intelligence of the aged who doesn't know how to operate their phones.
Not to talk of a greater reduction in employment rate

fulanis will not allow this
You must blame everything on Fulanis. So how many countries can even do this now? Even in the US, the land of democracy, the Republicans will never allow this and in fact they are trying as hard as possible to make sure that less and less people are able to vote.
The more people vote the more they lose, hence they are trying every trick to make voting as painful as possible.

Who does it benefit? Definitely not politicians. So it can't happen, at least not now.

So, do we just continue like this??
America Continue to Progress.
They just introduced mail-in-ballot system.
And they were receiving lots of reviews about it, so as to know which towards which direction they should advance to.
The mail-in-ballot method (as introduced by the US) is an example of remote-voting, which ultimately paves way for the online-voting - which also is another example of remote-voting.
Mail in na fraud,ask Trump

TsaTrinity:
A feasible plan but Nigeria only has about 42% population gaining access to the internet. Which is not enough.
What I will suggest is we should develop a system where you see the result so far after casting your vote. A perfect example is what is being done on twitter after voting in a poll.
#TruthOfTrinity
(@Bolded)

For the sake of those that might be physically voting in the Polling-units, this method of seeing the results immediately might not be best, because by the time the results of those that voted physically at the Polling-units would start to come in, the trend of the initial results might get highly overturned
