Watch that ball again. The movement of that ball beat him as he was accelerating and couldn't have tried to stop that ball in any other way. The only thing he would have done was to allow Jesus to beat him and then he can return to try to challenge again. That would have avoided the injury.

Do we apply the same critique when forward players take ambitious shots from 30 yards in hope that it might find the net...and it does? That too is a 50-50 chance that will get people cursing if it didn't find the net.

When there is an art of defensive ingenuity, let's praise it for what it is. Yes it could have gone wrong but it didn't.

Thomas tuchel might go down as my all time favourite Chelsea manager if he continues to play this beautifully.


He is the only one I have seen teaching us how to play in a certain way with much more confidence and also not making the same mistake of other managers...........notable mentions to Carlos ancelotti. Other managers just came to collect pension and go especially Jose mourinho.

I missed the today's game....what a win against pep Guardiola.

Tuchel now is my best Chelsea coach ever.

Glad I was among those who believed in Tuchel when others were doubtful and some outrightly deemed his appointment as a downgrade. He will still have my support no matter what happened come season end.
My advice is we shouldn't be quick to judge a player/manager without knowing their attributes and development curve.

It is a sad development.
I knew Lampard have a lot to learn when we Hired him and sounded the alarm before he was hired him but I was fully onboard when he was handed over the reigns. If the board were not going to back him through thick and thin to see out the project why hire him in the first place? To pacify the fans or warm up to media?
The results have been underwhelming putting everything into perspective but the coach is not at fault for majority of the lackluster performances, from players committing silly mistakes to lack of energy in key moments.
On the Tuchel appointment, he is a fantastic student of the game whom I rank alongside Pep, Sarri, Bielsa, Klopp, Conte when it comes to positional play and attacking with purpose but he is a combustible character when he doesn't get what he wants. For him to succeed he need to unite the players as the dressing room will be divided at present, the season is still salvageable especially with FA and a top four finish within sight. I hope he gives Gilmour and CHO a good run of games with Havertz playing centrally.

He played a very weak penalty in the carabao cup final shoot out two years and the deadbeat gk let it slip in.
Even Aguero was shocked Kepa couldn't save it.

Fantastic foresight you've got there. As for me, I called him a relatively unknown person and as of then he was. It's fair to say he no longer is.
He has shown the world the stuff he's made of.

i still feel iffy about our board and their characteristic shenanigans. They need to act now and give Tuchel his long term contract and stick to it. He has undoubtedly shown that he deserves it. You don't win the top 5 coaches in world football by luck or chance.
He has shown a shrewd and uncanny ability to play to each players strength and set them up tactically to complement themselves.
The board needs to back him up and give him the players he asks for and most importantly stand by him when his bad spell comes. Trust in him to get us back to this very moment we are. This moment where we look and feel invincible. TRUST is the keyword. We must not be reactionary.
Tuchel has shown himself to be a rare gem. Hopefully we keep him this time and make a legend out of him.

Said it the other time that we should tamper our expectations so as to avoid serious disappointment over the course of the season but a lot of you went ahead of yourselves with wild prediction and over the top expectation like capital speculators hedging on mutual funds, now when reality sets in you all are disappointed, cursing and gnashing your teeth like carnivorous beasts.
Lampard twice this season has rushed to play Reece James ahead of Azpillicueta who is fitter and each time it ended in resounding defeats costing us 6pts, also it appears that Kante is past it and should be replaced, his recurring injury is a thing of concern.
Tactically Lampard has a lot to learn else he will end up like Thierry Henry who is brilliant but can't find the right way to get his team playing when things didn't go his way

I won't mind Tuchel at all but if the board choose to stick with Lampard then I'm onboard with their decision whichever it is.

Everyone be claiming "I told you so" now, forgetting that if the right digging is done, they will be left embarrassed with old posts too.
