On a serious note, Onyisi Mugu, I do have a relevant question about online gigs. Tried my hand at it and was dismayed to find that jobs were offered by other members of the unnamed remote employment website, only for them to melt away without so much as a positive review, once I turned in the completed task.

How does one distinguish between legitimate employers who will pay and publish performance reviews promptly on one hand, as opposed to scammers who use one's expertise and then simply vanish into the cosmos, never to be heard from again?

Is it simply a matter of refusing any job offer that is presented by a fellow member of the website, or is there some other means by which one can separate the wheat from the chaff?

Most platforms have checks in place...how did you get scammed? You must have gone off-platform?

How long are you willing to invest?

If its up to 7 months, use 60% to buy bitcoin and 40% to buy ethereum.

From January 1 till date, btc and eth have done 170% and 500% respectively. Note that it's not a quick money scheme. Crypto takes money from the impatient to the patient.

I was contacted through the website chatbox by fellow members of the website, and given a couple of low-budget jobs which I knocked out real fast. I was more concerned with getting favorable reviews than I was about the meager pay, but those two "employers" simply melted away, which led me to conclude that my work was used, but they decided to pretend they did the job.

Left a bitter taste in my mouth for sure, since I was new to the website, and would actually have worked for free, provided an honest review of my competence was given, so as to pave the way to more lucrative offers later.

In relation to your response, would I be right in concluding that all offers to communicate outside the website chatbox should be regarded as deceitful and therefore ignored?

Mine was way back 2019. I think around August/September, I got a gig with a US company, working as a transcriber.

1. Transcriber.
2. A friend gave me the connect.
3. Around $300 per month.
4. I enjoy the work flexibility that the gig provide, as I can work whenever and wherever i want. But there are peak hours(8pm -5am) though, when audios files are in infinite flow.

Working remotely is one of the best feeling ever. I mean, the flexibility, liberty to work at your own convenience, earning in hard currencies etc. You don't have to subject yourself to the many hassles, inconvenience and frustrations that are accompanied with onsite jobs.

I can only advise that you always have a contract in place before you start. One red flag to look out for is clients who attempt to transact without a contract. Other than this, try to stick to reputable platform

Much thanks, sir, for this wisdom. I simply had no idea that the contract comes first. I assumed that one needed to first complete the task, and then demand payment once the customer agreed the project was properly executed.
