La Liga!

A few years back La Liga didn't mean shiit to us anymore.
We won it so much, we thought it was worthless.
Only the UCL was!

Today see how everyone is scrambling for La Liga.

Madrid celebrated it like Chtistmans last year.

This year Madrid fans are fasting and praying for Athletico to slip.

Diego Simeone is running up and down the touch line, going crazy for La Liga.

La Liga is so precious once again. It is a big trophy again.

Even our coaches who won La Liga only were sacked for winning only a "small" trophy.

Let's face the reality lol.

Messi will leave.
Alba, Pique, Busquets, Lenglet, all have to leave.

We will become another Man United and AC Milan for another 3 years minimum.

3 years if we get things right.
Who said we must wait for 3 yrs to become competitive again? Hell, we lost our competitiveness since like last 4 years. Messi's departure won't change much in terms our football provided an adequate striker is drafted in.

Messi's departure will only affect the market value of the club. Absence of his enormous salary will even represent a big heave of relief on the club's coffers. If Laporta's gets his acts together properly, get a competent coach, we will be fine without Messi. Look at Madrid, Zidane may not have won trophies this season but Madrid is still very competitive despite sale of CRonaldo. ManCity do not have any player in Messi's caliber, but they are the team to beat. If we can have a team as competitive as this City squad, who cares if Messi is part of it or not?

For those who were still doubting… I hope yesterday was enough to convince you:

1- Ter Stegen is not the keeper he used to be. It is time to sell him and buy a more consistent keeper.

2- Pique is a dinosaur. He must be a substitute next season.

3- Lenglet has never been good enough for Barca. He lacks quality and consistency – Sell him

4- Puig is young, fresh, motivated but does not have the quality required to be a started. We can keep him as a substitute if he doesn’t mind

5- We need to sell Umtiti and Lenglet and buy TWO central defenders. Eric Garcia does not yet have to the quality required to be a starter at Barca

6- We must learn from your mistakes of the past: remember a few years ago, Tiago Silva was supposed to sign for Barca, you let him go to PSG because you refused to pay an extra 10k. Then, Marquinos wanted to sign for Barca and again… you let him go to PSG because you refuse to give him a competitive salary. WE KEEP MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES – Learn to spend on quality defenders and stop going to cheap options!!!

7- Dembele must be sold – if he doesn’t want to go, then bench him for the whole of next season. He cost us so must money and never really delivered.

8 – KOEMAN MUST GO!!! That is not negotiable. Try to sign Klopp or Laurent Blanc, or a high calibre coach.

Copied
Henry was deemed past his prime after scoring less than 15 goals in the league in his 1st season

Eto'o was seen as a pest

Xavi was to be sold to Bayern

Messi was almost being called a "glass" due to injury

Puyol was considered too old to lead the defence.

Yaya Toure was "inexperienced"

Abidal was surplus to requirement

Etc

When Guardiola came, everything changed completely.

Hope you get the drift...

Lost competitiveness since the last 4 years yet we won La Liga in 2018 and 2019 and won Copa del rey in 2021huh.

2nd in the league 2020?.

And never mind this latest string of bad results; we fought competitively for this league until that Athletico draw. At that point we sort of lost motivation.

It seems you don't know what losing competitiveness means.

By the time you start battling for 4th position like Juventus and not lifting a trophy for 3 years you would understand what losing competitiveness means.

We only lost competitiveness in Europe and soon we shall lose competitivenss also in La Liga.

1. Barca losing Messi and Real Madrid losing Ronaldo are incomparable.
Even when Ronaldo was around at Madrid, they still had some very vital players who contributed immensely to their success; Most notably Ramos, Bale, Modric and Marcelo.
However the last time Barca had a team not overwhelmingly dependent on Messi was in 2015.

Ever since then, can you name any player who stepped up when Messi wasn't paying well?

See why it was easy for Madrid to adapt to Ronaldo? All they needed was a good striker to replace him.
They still have the core of the team performing at the top top top level; Kroos, Ramos, Modric, Benzema, Varane, Cavajal, Casemiro, these guys are still the heart and soul of Madrid.

Could you say the same for Barca,? Abi is it the Pique, Busquets and Alba which we yab here week in week out?

Even despite that, could say confidently say that Madrid have moved on from Ronaldo?
What have they won besides their VAR assisted league title of 2020?

2. Are you going to compare us again to City?

Do you know how long Pep's project has lasted? How many years?

Is it the money that he's splashed on player purchases?

Despite that, you are talking about success; what success have City even achieved outside the EPL?

Look mehn, you(rather we) need to brace up to reality;
Messi leaves,
Pique leaves,
Alba has to go,
Busquets has to go.

Build the team around Griezman and Dembele.
And probably Riqui Puig.
Haha.

Better face reality; the only guarantee to instant success is to miraculously acquire the best players in the calibre of Neymar, Haaland and co.

Otherwise you must be patient for a couple of years and build a team.

Looking at the players available, we currently have a squad far inferior to teams like PSG, Man City, Bayern, Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid.

The sad reality is that when Messi leaves, and with this squad of players we will have to seriously fight for top 4 for sometime and to get out of our UCL group; unless some very massive replacements in the shape of Neymar, Haaland, De Bryune era etc are made to replace him.

In football nowadays you either buy success or patiently build up for success.

Yesoo dude just wrecked our title charge. He should have gone away for his surgery. But he stayed to ruin us. Easily beaten at his near post against Levante for th 3-3. His howler against Celta yesterday.

I am really afraid for the future of this club..

And for the first time since Neymar left, I am beginning to wish he didn't leave.

We have always been blessed with a ballon for standard player;

Cryuff
Ronaldo
Romario
Ronaldinho
Messi (he's time is up, he has to leave next month)

Who's gonna take over to build the team around him?

Maybe Fati(Most likely) Maybe a top striker or griezmann for the short term Let's firstly get a reasonable coach and shore up that defence

Bonmati saw that space behind the defense and ran in there, our players will rather wait where they are and look for Messi instead

Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Debroslink: 7:42am On May 18, 2021
I wish for Harry Kane at Barcelona. He's a very good goal scorer plus he joins the midfield to initiate attacks. It's not easy to be the highest goal scorer and also highest assist maker in EPL.

I prefer him to Haaland or any box striker.

Stop exaggerating.
That passtomessi problem has not been prominent this season.

We have had so many problems other than that.

Ok, pass-to-messi wasn't as bad as last season, but the players are usually sluggish with their useless game that that they allow the opponent regroup whenever they are with the club, no one to drag the defenders out and create space, even when space is created, nobody runs into the space, always standing expecting the ball to meet them where they are while trying to pass their way into the net.

Common guys!!! Lionel Messi will not leave Barcelona.
The way i see it personally, i think the future is bright, i just have this feeling, this positive energy towards Barcelona that the future is bright.
This new president has got what it takes. The reason why Barcelona has fallen so short of expectations especially this season is that after the end of last season, the plan was to offload all the aged players but how can we offload players we are oweing wages to?
It is practically impossible, and as you may know, lots of senior players are being owed wages since January, so the new president has recently thought ways to offload off lots of players that have overstayed their welcome by taking a 100 million pounds loan.
The covid 19 affected many clubs in the world and that was the reason for the super league in the first place.
Many clubs owe their players wages, some players are being owe wages since the beginning of covid-19 and in situations like this, if is difficult to offload players because you will have to pay off their wages and allowances.

Remember this was the issue that made Ozil depart Arsenal.

So guys!!! Give the president and his board a chance to end an era by paying off all the overdue players so they can leave the club. This is indeed an end of an era for Barcelona.
So stop complaining and look at the bright side of things and if you have been following what is going on in Barcelona, you will be hopeful for the future with the ongoing project.
I am even happy our season was a disaster and players like fasu got injured because that way, the team was exposed for the shambles they are and now the coach will be sacked, old players and useless players will be flushed out, a new coach will come ( Xavi or Klopp)
Next season, a new era will be born under Lionel Messi.
Believe me, next season Barcelona will scare the world of sport.
We will be back stronger and merciless.
