There has been constant robbery in Awka ifite for like the past 2weeks, a final year student of banking was even shot in one of those attack last week Sunday and exams was to and still started on Monday (he survived though).
As at this date last month they we're killing people (with guns) like goats. One evening I was going home then I heard gun shots (3) coming from the bar right in front of me, before my mind could process what was happening I was already running and so was every other person on the street, I ran into someone's compound because I no want make stray bullet hit me for back..

there were videos that trended all over what's app too as at this time last month where they killed boys at a popular market eke-awka (the spelling might be wrong) and the killers (likely to be a gang attack) we're videoing their victim while cutting him with cutlass.

The stories are too much to tell ...

Right now there is an attack, a gun brawl going on at miracle junction and a filling station at Regina was robbed this night like live right now....
The gun sounds I've been hearing cannot be that from a pistol, sounds like an AK but I'm not an expert on guns,I'm not sure..

I just remembered that the day before yesterday they robbed student who went to night class in school off their phones... Yes you heard it right boys took guns and robbed student in SCHOOL 2 days ago

My problem is this, with all this thing that has happened and the one happening right now, it had never trended on twitter before, I have never read a nairaland post on the insecurities in awka before even though these things are happening in front of students(we the internet generation) it never actually makes it to the internet... Now imagine how many other places that things like this are happening in Nigeria that we never hear about.

This is true and something need to be done about it before it escalates into a full blown war. I am currently at Aroma junction and I heard the gun shots too, it's disheartening that such a thing is happening here. Awka people are known to be peaceful people, but what changed? E k guru.

Ifite was the most serene, peaceful and student friendly environment when I was in Unizik.
Please, your security is under your control. Don't live in a lodge where known cultists are living. Don't stay out late. Go home straight from school, do not hang around in bars and friends place.
The times are bad.
Even the school securities can't even take Care of themselves, not to talk about watching over the students.
And even the so call school Anti cults are the cultists in the school, if they still exist.

Funny enough, I chose a lodge that has cultists because that's the one place armed robbers will never visit. After my first robbery experience, I realized the importance of living in a place that has plenty of "hot-headed" humans
