At the back of Abiola and Abacha in that picture is one notorious opolo eyed drug barron named Bola Aahmed Tinubu. He's the one directly behind them, looking sheepishly at power as he always will..If you see the whole of this picture, you will notice that most of the people that later ran out of the country in the early 90s to form NADECO were in that picture! They went to Dodan Barracks to beg Abacha to take over from Shonekan. At this point, Abacha was just the Minister of Defence and Head of the Army. The NADECO chieftains actually begged Abacha to upstage Shonekan and take over because they wanted ministerial positions.

Abacha did chase out a totally confused Shonekan from power few months after this, gave these guys "juicy positions" in his cabinet and after using them to legitimatize him putsch, dude went ahead to sack most of them! All these while, they forgot Abiola, the man on whose back they rode into Abachas government.., only to start supporting Abiola immediately they were sacked from the same government! That was how he started hounding them all over the place till they all ran to Antarctica! So whenever you want to demonize Abacha, do remember that he was encouraged to become the president by the same evil forces that encouraged Buhari to become the president. They're good at creating objects that will later swallow them.., these "sophisticated ones"..

First and foremost Abacha was a GOC at Ibadan, he wasn't at Dodan barrack but Odogbo barracks at Ojo cantonment

Secondly Jagaban won Senatorial Election and almost clinched Senate Presidency after spending all his Chicago and ExxonMobil money, only to be told to drop his Senate President ambition for an Ibo man and Christian to be Senate President and Iyiocha Ayu and Ameh Ebute got the seat just like Christian Professor Osinbajo did


Thirdly Abacha's promise before the coup was to give back power to Abiola with joint cabinet formed by Abiola's people and Abacha's guys( a promise he fulfilled partially)
