If I were a President, economic and human capital development would so occupy the centerpiece of government that correctional centers would be turned into centers for human capital development, moral education, and industries. Prisons would be converted to shoe, cloths, and garment-making factories, and the inmates would work on a paid hourly basis. a specified percentage of their earnings must be fixed in an interest-yielding government portfolio, and withdrawable upon the expiration of their jail terms.

Some learn skills. Most times their uniforms the wardens’ uniforms are sewn by inmates. There are cobblers, carpenters etc in the prison

They get paid but not as much as tailors outside the prison. They buy sewing equipment as well. The cobblers make shoes for sale sef. Some of our colleagues bought from them.
