The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has asked all Managing Directors of banks, their deputies and Executive Directors to submit their asset declaration forms.

The Nation learnt they have up to two weeks to do so or risk 10-year jail term.

The top executives are first on the list of bankers expected to declare their assets.

According to a top source, the directive to the Managing Directors, Deputy Managing Directors and Executive Directors are contained in a June 1, 2021 letter to them.

The source said: “In line with the decision of the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa to demand for the assets declaration forms filed by bankers beginning from June 1, 2021, the commission has demanded for the assets declaration forms of the executive management of all banks in the country.

“The request for the assets declaration forms of the top executives of banks is contained in a letter to the managing directors of the banks dated June 1, 2021.

“Listed among the officers whose assets declaration forms are expected by the Commission are managing directors, deputy managing directors and executive directors of all the banks.

“The request is pursuant to the Bank Employees, Etc. (Declaration of Assets) Act, 1986, which mandates bankers to declare assets upon employment and annually thereafter.

“Violators of the law risk imprisonment for a term of up to ten years.”

Set of fraudster disgusting as bank MDs.. EFCC hasn't been fair on Yahoo boys to be sincere.. How can some guys disguise under the umbrella of bank MDs be swindling the general public of their hard earned money? Now they said telecoms have mandated them to collect N6.98kobo for every transaction made on USSD, the question is hasn't EFCC heard this? Why can't they quinze the telecom and bank MDs on this? This is the highest level of fraud by the conniving bank MDs and the telecommunication companies.
Imagine firstbank that has over 50million customers in naija, assuming only half use their USSD transaction per day, that is 25million x 7 which is equal to 175million per day. What other way to make cool money? And you think banks will remit the whole 175million to the telecoms? They share the fvcking money while the customers suffer.

Things are about to get messy.

The EFCC should focus more on those in government stealing public funds with high-level impunity. Those are the people who ruined this country.

Strengthen your laws so you can be more proactive. Keep eyes on state governors, federal executive and legislature.
