The Presidency is just making itself a laughingstock with how it's going about this issue. Yesterday, prosecute Nigerians, today invite UK. By tomorrow, they will be fighting God.

The problem we are facing is bad government that don't think before they act. This temporal or permanent banning is a stupid act by a group of stupid old men who can't even tweet or know the implications of what they did. Bunch of old fools with loose priorities only thinking about their families and loan

Buhari has always acted irrationally since the 70s, fella was right to call him craze man

Only a General like Buhari would disobey direct orders of President Shehu Shagari to stop fighting Chad, and still invade Chad without authority, causing International backlash

He wasn't even a General then. He was a Colonel.

All you guys supporting Twitter at the expense of your country have shitty principles. Is Twitter God? Twitter collects money from adverts from Nigerians and pays zero tax to your country and you guys feel it is necessary to side with a tech company's irresponsibility over a country? Its good the suspension is done for a few months for the sake of the influencer and social media industry in the country. Then the tech companies respect laws in the countries that use them. Every country has a choice to go China on them.

Nigerians like you seem to struggle with distinguishing the government’s narrow interest from the broader national interest…smh undecided

The administration/government and the country are NOT synonymous…
Accordingly, one can defend Nigeria’s interest while opposing the government (in fact, opposition could be in Nigeria’s interest).

Meanwhile, in line with OECD/G20 BEPS project report proposals…
Nigeria taxes companies like Twitter on profits earned in Nigeria (see Sections 13(2)(c) and 13(2)(e) of the Finance Act 2019).
