Even in public schools, state government are now hoarding salaries and investing it in bitcoin for no just reason. So update your lesson note and collect your salary. cheesy

He wants you to write first term lesson note before he pays last terms money? If so, he doesn't want to pay and sadly there is nothing you would do that'll change his mind.

My suggestion is that you get his number and curse him that he will lose something valuable before the year ends if he doesn't pay.

The most is somehow but trust me, it'll work.

What was their agreement? If it is a part of their agreement, then the authority is right otherwise, the authority is very wrong.

It's not right.

I worked with one man that deducted 10% of staff salary in the of "Compulsory savings" and in his policy if you are leaving his school you pay him back one month salary.

Everyday you must prepare him atleast 4 lesson plan

The man Na deeper life pastor, very cunning and wicked.

First of all, how much is the salary he wants to withhold
Re: Should A School Owner Withhold Staff Salary For Not Updating Lesson Notes? by WoundedLamb: 5:12pm On Jun 09, 2021
Unfortunately, yes.

There will be no authority in an organization if the employer (or those on top of the hierarchy) has no way disciplining the employees (or the junior ones). It's called disciplinary action, and it usually comes after series of warnings. Withholding your salary is just one of the numerous ways of doing that. Other ways include suspending you without pay, deducting a certain percentage of your salary, denying you some percentage of your annual bonus, extending your promotion date or even demoting you in extreme cases. Kicking you out is always the last option. You can appeal if it's large organization with a well established hierarchy or decide to leave if the punishment came from the highest authority.

No...

They shouldn't. But if you are a serial defaulter, I would have you fired.

Updating your notes are important, I'm sure it was listed in your terms for employment.

You cant just stand in front of the class and teach out of the blues, or carry a textbook to class, same textbook all the students have. It is wrong and unprofessional. You may forget some tiny bits of information, or may not cover the topic within the set time allotted.

Your lesson notes should not be word for word as a textbook, It should be a copy of your brainwork, breaking the text down to their understanding, and adding relatable examples.

A lesson note is important. Do better and stop questioning the rights of the school to hold your salary.

If you no want work, other people dey wey want work. Dont contribute to the damage in nigeria's current education sector.

If part of your job description includes updating lecture notes but you have not done it can you honestly say you have fulfilled your own part of the employment contract? undecided

Private schools are modernized slave camps, you're expected to obey your slave masters and do whatever you're asked to do so you can survive. If he says you should update your lesson note kindly do it or risk starving to death.

This I have seen.

Yes. He has the right to do so, less, it will continue unabated, and that will affect the quality and standard of the school.

Updating lesson notes is still better some will condition you to submit test and exams questions immediately school resumes. Private schools work is not work

Just do what he says!

If you are not pleased, resign and get another job.

If I may ask, what was the agreement you had with your employer before you were officially employed? And I very sure there's a rule that guides teachers in their teaching.
