RioCarputo:You can see why Govt doesn't care for education systems and they always go strike. Educational sector seems to be non productive and just spending huge money to run itself. All the graduates produced, not one has ever gone back to make the University able to run itself. |

OAU gets light 24/7. I remember my time in school then, when you're infront of a set and the light goes off, u need not to stand up, just relax and take a chil pill, cos the light will be restored almost immediately. In fact, during the holidays, some students won't even like to travel home cos of the light they enjoy in school, and that's why you see the school authority switches off the light when the schl is on break to disperse the student from campus. |

dahgifted: The last time I travelled to Benin republic, after spending a week without a blink of light, I was l left dumbfounded. I thought it was only peculiar to the area I was living alone. I got to know that, they have been experiencing an uninterrupted power supply for more than a decade now. This is not confined to a specific area, it is a all or none effect including villages. |

‘we presently pays 80 million Naira per month for electricity and additionally, over two million Naira per month on Diesel to power generators”, he said.’ The quote above from the original post is different from the title. The title says 80m per annum and write up says per year, which should we believe |

phemmyfour: Hope you know #2m diesel is just about 8,000 ltrs? With the size of that institution despite the fact that only critical areas will be powered with gen when there's power loss, that volume can be gulped in less than 24 hours. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Yes, in OAU is a built 132/33kv Transmission substation with a direct 33kv line supply to the campus so they are always getting power supply except there is a general system failure or general load shedding in the power supply system. 1 Like |

famouscargo4u: I wish I can like this twice! That's the fact sir. There is justification for the amount, light is 24/7 on OAU campus. I don't know if there is any other campus in Nigerian that enjoy light as much as they do in OAU; the university generate its own light! with the stability of light on OAU campus, which i experienced myself, then the figure is not far from the truth. |

Sigirat345: It's possible. I know average size Estates paying like 20million naira. Given the size of OAU, and if they are on priority power supply, they'll definitely pay up to that. 1 Like 1 Share |
