Beancounter93:
Hmmm

We produce the same amount of oil as the UAE...yet UAE has less than 15 million people, while we have 211 million if not more.

We prodcue twice as much oil as Qatar, yet Qatar has 2 million people compared to our 211 million

We have a low tax to gdp ratio...and a low GDP.

And oil prices are too low for our needs....(we need oil above $100 per barrel, and even higher to avoid borrowing)

And the government won't wake up and diversify the economy...

So, e shock you?

The Horse's mouth
Even if oil becomes 2k usd per barrel, this gov will still give the same escuses.

These guys are a destructive bunch of nincompoops!

Imagine already exceeding the threshold planned for the whole year just halfway through the year?

She is always mentioning debt to GDP ratio to make our debt overhang look "manageable", when in actual sense, any prudent economist would be looking at our debt to revenue ratios, especially our foreign debt that already stands at about 50%!!!

See ehn, the Naira will continue to fall faster, and with it, cost-push inflation that would almost completely erode savings and obliterate purchasing power.

If this cow herder and his inept goofballs remain in power till 2023, it would.be a miracle if there is no popular & widespread people's revolt forced by never-before-experienced economic hardship by the poor masses

No, based on past experiences, things will 'get better'. (note that get better is in parenthesis.)

But it would still be bad,,...we would import more, and there would be job losses due to industry closures...and a lot of the money would go to paying subsides and debt.

Nigeria's problem is our reliance on oil revene to the detriment of our industrial productivity.

They should borrow and be developing North when the country divides am sure they will collect it from the North. U said one of the reasons is cus of Oil price fall. My question is whats the bench mark of oil price in our budget. Wicked leaders they should borrow as long as the will be able to loot. Very soon 1 dollar will be 10,000 Naria before 2023.

In every country there are people who do the work and there are "show men" sadly in todays Nigeria is full of "show men" hence this mess. Producers spend millions on movies/music stars while product stay same. Political and Religious Leaders, Captain of Industries and Generals had master the act of Rhetoric and psychology speaking. When there's an issue, topic or a post youths are more interested to make fun or gain likes than address it. Women has find new ways of getting attractive faces and desirable shape than work on their ill-character, When they are chritized my reply is; they reflect todays men sense of values and quality same way BBN a reflection of our sense of fun but watching Maths, Science, Dabate competition are consider boring yet we complain when organizers give excercise book and biro to those kids. When the roof of a house has fallen you don't expect the ceiling to keep standing. Continue to borrow cause we are brain dead to offer solution, ofcause we will call on God to pay the debt.
