Fact Check: The Buhari Administration Started, Completed The Lagos–Ibadan Rail by presidency(op): 4:37pm On Jun 14, 2021
Contrary to the misinformation being circulated on social media, the Lagos—Ibadan Standard Gauge Rail Line is the first Standard Gauge Rail line in Nigeria to be started (2017) and completed (2020) by the same administration- the Buhari Administration.

Lies from the pit of hell. Buhari didn't start the Lagos Ibadan rail line but I must give him credit for completing it. The presidency should learn to give honour to whom honour is due. They should acknowledge the PDP administration that started the project. Enough of this lies and propaganda by this present administration

Are there anything like lies from the pit of heaven? Just asking? huh
Re: Fact Check: The Buhari Administration Started, Completed The Lagos–Ibadan Rail by Nbotee(m):
This govt and claiming and twisting facts. The Lagos-Ibadan stretch of the rail project is part of the Lagos-Kano project which was started by the GEJ administration. The Abuja-Kaduna portion of the project had already been fully completed and dis portion of the project had already been started by the previous administration which was why dis govt embarked on a modernisation of what was already done wen it claimed to have started it

This is true. Even though the project had been in the talks since 2006, work was started on it under President Buhari's regime. The unwillingness of other regimes to increase Nigeria's debt profile needlessly contributed to the delay.

Who could forget the public outrage at the proposed $1.5bn loan gotten from China for this project despite Nigeria's enormous debt profile then? The fact that the railway failed to be delivered on December 2018 as agreed even made the outrage worse.

Better late than never, I guess.

Nice but SMH ...
It's high time Nigerians get the orientation that leaders are elected to do such things and stop the hyping when they perform their roles haven been elected .
The mentality of singing praises over a basic social amenity is sickening.
Do these leaders not get huge fat allowances and monthly salaries whilst in those positions of leadership? Or is it not the nations revenue and tax payers monies they use to execute project(s) so why the fuse and noise @OP and likes.
emmnprince:
You're really a senior writer.
Doing what you are supposed to do as elected shouldn't be hyped. But in a country like ours, they do so to score cheap popularity!

Even the Lagos-Ibadan phase of the project isn't completed as the OP affirmed. Work is still ongoing at the train stations like Agege, Agbado, Kajola, . . . It was only flagged off last week Thursday for reasons best known to them!
Thanks for quoting ....
Stay Woke.
Hope you have a residual income too...
Gambit23:
If d govt didnt do this project, u go beat them?
SMH @you and your kind of mindset.

We need young visionary leaders abeg.

It doesn't change the fact that this evil regime is the worst administration in the history of governance.

Re: Fact Check: The Buhari Administration Started, Completed The Lagos–Ibadan Rail by Saifullah01:
we all know how contracts work in Nigeria. There is

1.signing of MoU
2.Then awarding of contract
3.Then re-awarding of the same contract at a higher price
4.Then approval to disburse fund (not actual disbursement)
5.Finding the source for funds to be disbursed

Forget the semantic gymnastics played by politicians. What matters is who layed the first brick and who commissioned it. If the answer is Buhari - then Baba takes all

The monicker reads “presidency”.

No be Bashir Ahmed and Lauretta Onochie be that?

So the idiots banned Twitter.

And now Google has deleted their substitute Cow app from Play Store.

Now they are struggling space with us on Nairaland.

Next they will look for what they will say Nairaland did and jam it from the web host.

Na MOD wey push this trash to FP I dey blame.

Some of us who are aware and informed, remember GEJ government signing the contract for the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge line and work even started.

So all these lies will never change what we know. And that is that GEJ govt started the project while Buhari govt continued and finished it.

Find below the screenshots of the report of the contract from Reuters, Premium Times, etc, in 2012; a year after Jonathan won the 2011 general elections.

APC and Buhari should stop distorting the truth.

Adamu garbage said he supports Twitter ban and that Twitter was wrong for deleting buhari genocide tweets.
Now Google play store has deleted his useless crowwe app after we continuously flagged it.
What is adamu garbage and buhari next action? Are they going to ban Google?.
The next is that K'oo app, we don't need it in our internet space, what we want is Twitter. Nigerians go and flag that app called K'oo, it does not serve our interest.

What a shame that the only achievement of PDP in infrastructure is claim that they started it? What a horrible shame! So even if they started it, but to what stage? Did they do drawing like second Niger bridge or what did they do? APC is full of dull people but PDP was and is hopeless. An administration that sold crude at over $100 for 5 straight years (2010 - 2014) can only claim to have started projects? And people that attended school are part of their supporters?
