My take won't change - Okadas should go. Must they be in Lagos? They might as well go to other places. It's an aberration to use motorcycles as a means of transportation. But for the disasters we've had in government,a mass transportation policy and culture would have been designed and entrenched. Nonetheless, for security- Fulanis are set to use their army as foot soldiers -,social and safety reasons,Okadas must go. Here, it's now incumbent on the government to fast track a mass transportation system very quickly in order to give impetus to the law and ammunition to its implementation. For those opposing this move by the government, they still belong to medieval times in a tech-savvy world. |

Sleekfingers:I don't know if the total ban will work in places like Apapa Tin can, or kirikiri and mazamaza, cause when those containers block roads, it's always okada to the rescue,. Plus many University graduate, and many underpay workers find solance in it, It's just those bad eggs, mostly from the north, and neighboring country, that are spoiling things heee |

do4luv14:you are right.....some areas might be exempt temporalily eg apapa, the entire lagos badagry expressway, ijora, badia, kirikiri ajegunle, ikotun, egbe, ijegun , igando due to bad road and traffic........ But they should start the ban from areas like lagos Island, victoria island, ikeja, surulere, ikoyi, some part of lekki and ajah, yaba, ebute meta, oshodi, mushin, shomolu, bariga, gbagada, jibowu, ilupeju, maryland, ketu, ojota, anthony |

Deydontknow:One bottle of cold stout for you Many people commenting don't live in lag and won't know the situation on ground. Banning okada now would have a catastrophic effect in lagos |

Deydontknow:I have seen those criminals mob innocent people to death. They use their large numbers to create total lawlessness. They are a terrorist group. Their disadvantages outweigh any possible advantage. They should be scraped. A few could be licenses to run the hinterland under strict monitoring. |

If you are chased out of Lagos, You had better come to Ibadan. You are welcome in Oyo State. There are opportunities in IB. Come and expand your tentacles. We need you here to expand our economy. Courtesy: Gov. Seyi Makinde |

You have to ban it slowly over a period of time. Over a 5 year period ban and enforce it from one area to the next until the whole state is covered. |
