Actually,all the languages spoken in the Middle Belt, the South East, the South West and the South East belong to the same language family, known as the Niger Congo Language family.

So in other words, all the languages in the Middle Belt and the whole of Southern Nigeria had a common origin at some point in the past.

This differentiates them from the Hausa and Fulani languages which belong to a completely different language family called the Afro Asia ticket language family.

However this does not necessarily mean that they share a common genealogical origin.

Belonging to the same ethnic or racial group is determined by a different set of factors than linguistic affiliations.

Therefore there is no phenotypical evidence to support the claim that certain ethnic groups originated from larger ethnic groups.
