Thus, a student must be fit in learning and in character to qualify for the award of a degree. Democracy is not a recipe for social media madness.

At the bolded is not correct sir. There are cases students have won against university authorities in the past. I personally know of two won against a university (a federal university for that matter) though not something made public like this one.

number of lawyers does not win court case, so also title of such lawyer be ye SAN or not, but ability of such lawyer argue and defend his case. to me the boy has a good case and i am very sure he will laugh last though it may tarry, but surely

Alot have won because the law isnt based on who has the most lawyers but on how you state your case and raise facts and evidences.
We cant keep letting folks go just like that because we feel they have "a large legal dept" or can hire more lawyers. That is flawed thinking

I know someone who sued maritime academy of nigeria, a federal government institution under the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian ministry of transportation. He won the case in court and got his compensation and scholarship. Stop spreading cowardice, even if he loses the case, the school should be made to understand that a student can summon them to court and they'd answer. Even if you don't win, atleast go down fighting!

hiring more lawyers implies more resources, you know the rest. This case is definitely pro bono.

Guys think about this:

State Uni, State governor and Uni's visitor.

The principal counsel (Inibehe Effiong) is a critic of the governor and his church.

The student might be the grass while two elephants are fighting.

They will so drag the case especially now that it's public and the 20million can't salvage their pain/time.

The student took the right step and I pray no matter what happens in court it should shoot him to better opportunities. The case of Onofiok Luke comes to mind.

Who dey advise this guy? This is a wrong move. Just apologize and move on because he would never get justice. This is a state university controlled by a sitting Governor. Way back in school in 2012, I had a senior colleague who did same, guy no graduate till 5 years later after his mates have all passed through the institution
You made a derogatory publication against someone else and you are still suing the institution for suspending you? Oh! Lawyer must chop now but believe me this case will take 10years and by then the Governor and the VC would have left office

Is it d university lecturers that are d legal representatives of d university? Where d lecturers in d faculty of law employed to teach and provide legal services to d university at d same time?
