Cristiano Ronaldo has drawn level with Iran's Ali Daei after scoring his 109th international goal for Portugal. The 36-year-old has scored a brace in his country's final Euro 2020 group stage match against France in Budapest, Hungary.

Ronaldo scored three times in the first two group matches and made it four goals in three games when netting from the spot in the first half against France.


After Danilo had been caught by Hugo Lloris in the air at a free-kick, Ronaldo stepped up to send the Tottenham goalkeeper the wrong way from 12 yards.

And he scored another penalty on the hour mark for his 109th goal for Portugal following a Jules Kounde handball inside the area.

Ronaldo is now the European all-time top goalscorer at major tournaments with 21 goals, surpassing Germany legend Miroslav Klose.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has scored at more World Cups and European Championships than Poland, such is his prolific record.


And he is the leading scorer at this summer's Euros with five strikes, putting him two clear of Patrik Schick, Emil Forsberg, Romelu Lukaku, Gini Wijnaldum and Robert Lewandowski all tied on three.

Ronaldo's 109 goals have come in 177 caps, having made his debut for his country in August 2003 aged 18.
