Cry cry baby, go and build an app. No government builds social media apps.

Self interest is important but since you hate your country so much, you'll find any loophole to discredit.

Rubbish

In what way has your love for your country benefitted the country Mr un-cry cry baby? We would still buy fuel for #300 soon, and exchange rate would still get to $1 =N1000.

That is good for Russia as a country

I hope you aren't part of those saying that Buhari was wrong with the way he handled Twitter?

The US and entities emanating from there, have this way of 'lording it' or 'exploiting' others.

How can a company be making billions from a country without any solid physical presence and paying taxes? That's totally unacceptable.

I have been saying this but people fail to understand me. It is only a matter of time before more countries continue to clamp down on Facebook, twitter etc.
I have said this before, you can't use the mentality of America in another country it just won't work.

For example it is bad to be anti homosexual in the USA. But in Nigeria it is not. But I can't say anything anti homosexual on Facebook or Twitter which operates in Nigeria cyberspace, I would be banned, that is wrong.
Those of you that argue that it is their platform so therefore they can set their rules are missing the point.
Their platform operates in Nigeria cyberspace therefore they can't use America's policy on Nigeria.

Another example, China is big on censorship, the USA is not, so an American company that does not believe in censorship but an open internet cannot bring the American mentality to China, it won't work. In fact Google, YouTube, twitter, Facebook etc are even banned in China.

American companies must accept that they're operating in another countries' cyberspace and therefore must conform to the said countries' mentality and laws.

grin funny you, and the problem with you BMC folks is that, you are paid to see contrary opinions even genuine ones as hatred for the government you are serving.

And your last statement defines you more, why sought validation because the Russian president took an action? You are been hypocritical with the truth. Reasonable government support businesses, and it is evident in the way and manner companies are running away from Nigeria to neighbouring countries to build their African headquarters. No business would runaway from a country, with good investment environment!

Stale, boring, childish talk

So baning it is now thd best way of controlling it... What are ur stand?
I think the positive value of the social media is exagerrated and extensive studies are required to know what social cost we are paying for it. I noticed that most of our companies hitherto paying millions of dollars to Twitter for ads have carried on well for weeks now without such repatriation of funds overseas and parents are now more aware of the dangers of the social media. Those who support it may have exaggerated the dangers of the social media but it appears their narrative is gaining more acceptance. I am for regulation of the use of the social media and such company must have a physical office in Nigeria and pay tax from its ad revenue. We just can't continue business as usual so we will not gain social media and lose our humanity.

You probably get your news from CNN, aljazeera, BBC or some western media outlet.
Those media outlets are used for propaganda for the USA and its allies.

They have been attacking China claiming China is committing genocide against an ethnic Chinese group called the Uighurs. They have no evidence but they still double down in such claims.

You just don't know how effective the media and journalists are at spreading propaganda.

Theunbothered:

Russia is literally killing opposition and attacking social media communities of their global rivals with bot farms.

Putin is a dictator and I'm not surprised, people like you who love suffering and oppression get wet at this kind of news.

Imagine the amount of treason in you for you to compare the democracy we aspire to in Nigeria to Russia.

If Nigeria was truly like Russia with a putin type figure from the north ruling forever, will you SW BMC people see any money to eat?

If you have the link, I'll accept it.
