What most folks don't realize is that power is transient.. somebody else will be there after 2023 and that person may decide to tow the same path by using the same Military the present government is using now.

Czechoslovakia divided in 1993 to form Slovakia and Czech republic peacefully, the constitution of the country allowed that and it was a peaceful process

Amalgamation documents are before 1960

Amalgamation documents is null and void, we are using the 1999 constitution and there is no clause for referendum in the 1999 constitution.

There is nothing wrong with secessionist agitation in as much as it is peaceful and non confrontational. Secessionist agitators are in almost every country including US, China, Russia, Spain etc.

The difference is that they are peaceful and law abiding. They also get involved heavily in politics. They form secessionist political party with secession as their main ideology and aim. That’s what our own agitators should learn. Form their own party, get their members elected into various arms of government with the aim to use their political power to push for what they want.

Igboho’s biggest mistake was attacking the Idi Iroko border. It was an unnecessary and senseless attack. That is what DSS will charge him for and not necessarily for the campaign for secession because his rallies have been largely peaceful.

A good leader would convene a National dialogue immediately to reassure the agitators of government's efforts to ensure their safety which is part of their fundamental human rights as Nigerians.
