https://www.iea.org/reports/tracking-sdg7-the-energy-progress-report-2021 Kenya has been ranked as the top country in the world in reducing the population with no access to electricity, pointing to the impact of the State’s focus on rural areas for nearly a decade. --> There is still an issue with electricity demand https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/bd/markets/market-news/kenya-tops-growth-connections-of-electricity-3464710

if you remove oil and related revenue - their tax revenue is less than Uganda - maybe even Rwanda. The country is a joke. If you compare the tax rates - it more like kenya (30 coorp, 24 paye) - except their VAT is 8 percent while kenya is 16 percent. kikuyu1: |

kikuyu1:u've made no valid point, u're only spewing incoherent verbatim. Check every oil producing countries tax-to-gdp ratio and tell me the average rate. I'm not stating this as an excuse but it's better we know the nitty-gritty of things before showcasing our sheer ignorance. |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 8:42am On Jul 08, 2021 |
Algeria produces as much oil as Nigeria - about 2M barrel per day - and it's tax to gpd is 26 percent. Nigeria is only comparable to middle east countries like Kuwait - with Nigeria shockign 3 percent tax to gdp ratio. If you check the structure of the countries that have low tax to gdp - their oil sector is Big Part of the Economy. There are not like Nigeria who claim Oil is not even 10 percent of the economy - and yet the same oil sector contribute to 4 (out the 6) percent of the revenue gdp. That can only mean the entire oil industry is taxed to death - which is impossible. Bottomline - NIGERIA GDP IS OVERCOOKED. theenchanter: |

rvp2018:first and foremost, Nigeria has more oil reserve than Algeria and more expected year of depletion, Algeria has about 80 more years of oil while Nigeria has x4 of that. Algeria recently started to produce high bpd of oil while Nigeria has been producing since the 80s...... My point, Algeria already has a high tax-to-gdp rate compared to Nigeria because Nigeria has been producing huge amount of oil earlier than Algeria and oil is a determining factor in tax rate of developing nations. Nigeria is comparable to M. Eastern nations in term of taxations cos we've been producing huge amount of oil for over half a century and d oil wealth didn't make the govts to tax it's citizens heavily then..... Even though Nigeria's tax-to-gdp is not even 3% but 6%, but I take that as one of ur classic show of ignorance. At the end of the day, everyone is liable for his/her own opinion and belief. If you check the structure of the countries that have low tax to gdp - their oil sector is Big Part of the Economybut u always reiterate that oil is a big part of Nigeria's economy, no? ![]() That's how dumb one sounds when he's trying to be intelligent by half. |

Africa's Largest Recycling facility is fully operational in Kumasi The plant also handles electronic waste and medical waste. It handles 100% of solid waste in the entire Region. It comes with a waste water treatment facility to handle the region entire waste water treatment. Africa only recycle 4% of it waste https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNlk_OWxPiM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dNLhTpW8bg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLy4nUWC5Co |

A classic example of Nigerian bad education. You gov has of course little money for social investment like quality education. What hell has this got to do with tax or revenue to GDP? If your oil and gas industry is 9% of the GDP - and yet it contributes 80-90% of the revenues (which is 6% of the GDP) then what does this mean to you? It mean that 90% of your GDP contribute - that is whopping 360B (bigger than South Africa) - can only contribute 7B dollars - that is what UGANDA does. Tiny Rwanda of 10M - with zero minerals - is doing nearly 3B dollars. That kind of question I am afraid is to complicated for a west african undeveloped brain. theenchanter: |

How does Solid Waste become a waste water treatment. You need proper modern sewage system - right from every household - piped to that waste water plant. But you're making good progress in Solid Waste. I am not sure about organic fertilizers with all the heavy metals there. It probably better to generate thermal electricity with it. Just30: |

rvp2018:Typical Kenyan As usual, you will type nonsense Watch the first video, that's the solid waste portion.... The third video is the wastewater treatment section... And it has the capacity to handle the entire region wastewater ![]() The solid waste section already has a waste to energy plant.... what has metals got to do with organic fertilizer which has been processed and all the metal element removed except the important ones?? All regions in Ghana have a similar facility like this... |

I did watch. Like I said - the solid waste part is good. The wastewater looks like a plant for a really small town. You really need proper sewage system. As for organic fertilizer - from urban waste in Ghana - with well-known electronic waste dumped worldwide there - nay -you may end up messing with your nascent export agriculture - Besides all the cancers from the carcinogenic waste there. If you were using to generate power like Ethiopia is doing and kenya is planning to do - yes that would make more sense. Just30: |

And like i told you, with the latest technologies You don't need a huge land to put up the largest wastewater treatment plant.. Just a 10 to 20 acres will do. It handles wastewater for an entire region of 6 million people. Sorry kiddo, all electronic waste are now sorted out and sent to a separate electronic waste portion of the facility.... Next excuse for why Kenya does not have these kinds of facilities to process it electronic waste, medical waste, solid and liquid waste.... ![]() How long is kenya going to be in the planning pipeline that is clogged? ![]() rvp2018: |

Let me help. This my hometown Kericho- water and sewage system - a town of less than 30K people. That the sewage systems - and water treatment under construction. My campus roomate was the CEO of it - KEWASCO - but now is County Minister in next county. Now how can the little thing you have in that video manage 6m people waste water when it look smaller than 30K town system! Do you know how much wastewater 6m people generate - Nairobi with 4m - generate nearly 100k cubic meters liters of waste water daily (from consumption of 700k cubic litres) - that require a man-made lake to deal with it - there is no technology that can treat wastewater so fast - as it released - what is it using ? That is why Nairobi city has 4,000 acres of land reserved for treating waste water - in Ruai alone - and many more in other areas. The water is treated and released to the rivers after it is certified as safe. What you have in Ghana is BABY STEPS - I guess you never had any - like we know it used to cover Accra CBD - but it's broken down - now you dump waste water directly to the underground - and then drill it back as borehole water. No wonder the many diseases. Just30:

rvp2018:The average person in Kumasi generate 0.74kg of effluent a day. This measure up to 4500 cubic meters of effluent generated in a day.. The plant treats 1000m3 daily which is more than what the Region 6million inhabitants release daily for treatment. |

Back to sludge delivered by trucks - Such kind of nonsense. Start building a modern waste system. Wastewater (grey water) should be piped to central places - and treated. Not in cesspools and cesspits unless you want to condemn your underground water.Just30: |

Mad cow - Try to get this kind of pristine enviroment - only the Swiss Alps would compete. Ghana you have allowed Chinese to put mercury everywhere - the water sources are totally contaminated - fish cannot survive- the Atlantic is huge cesspool as you dump raw sewage onto it and - people can dig every forest - and while it - you're dumping huge amount of shift underground. My friend in kenya forest are so protected -you have a better chance of going to the statehouse than some forests. You cannot even go with machete - leave alone drive a whole earth mover - and start prospecting for minerals. Pristine forest, farms, coastline - that is not possible in Ghana - even with Sanitation minister. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DxAvcMko5g |
