We have NUPE ethnic group in Kwara State, they are widely dominated in the Northern part of Kwara State, they exhibit same traits as Hausa/Fulani, their major occupation is farming, higher percentage of their kids detest education, 90 percentage of their kids won’t go to school on a market day , and I think on Fridays which is exclusively classified for Muslim prayer day. They are extremely fetish people, and accommodating.

An Iroko has fallen. A retired soldier and good man. He addressed us in Yikpata camp during my service. He speaks Yoruba, Nupe, Hausa and a little Igbo.

He told us that we should feel at home in Kwara and even suggested we take wives if possible. . It was through him that I realized that the old Oyo Ile, Patigi, even Share falls under his emirate.

Just to help you out. Kwara State is a mixture of many ethnic groups, not just the Yorubas. They're 16 Local Governments and the Yoruba are predominant in 12. The other four are dominated by Nupe/Tapa (Edu and Patigi) and Baruba (Kiama/Baruten).

Even amongst the 12 LGs that yoruba people are ubiquitous, the paramount ruler of ilorin - maimartaba sarkin ilori Sulu Gambari - control 5.
